Others teams are viewing the Nationals as the early favorite to land C.J. Wilson, according to Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated (via Twitter). The Nationals, along with the Marlins and Blue Jays, are seen as probable big spenders at the meetings.

^ the way it is written, it doesn't link Blue Jays to C.J. Wilson. It is just saying Blue Jays are spenders.

I don't think Lind has much value, and the market is valuing closers very highly right now. So I don't think we could get any decent closer.

I don't really think it is a problem though to have Lind if we signed Prince. Lind is a platoon player, and I think you could do an alright rotation with EE, Lind. Just DH Lind when RHPers are pitching, and EE when LHPers are pitching. Then the odd day when a righty is at the mound put Lind at first and let Prince play DH.

.251, 26 HR, 87 RBI
.225, 28 HR, 80 RBI

One of them is Adam Lind, the other is Carlos Pena. Pena makes $10M, Lind makes $5M for the next few years. A lot of teams would be interested.

Pena also gets on base. He had a .357 OBP while Lind had a .295 OBP. I'm not saying Pena is worth 10 million, but he's a lot more valuable than Lind.

Please, Please, Please.

If this happens, I'll personally buy a Fielder jersey...maybe two.

That's gotta count for something, right?

Seems like the first big fish is off the board in terms of position players as it looks like Reyes is heading to Miami. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/12/m ... -deal.html
Was a nice pipe dream for the Jays while it lasted though...

What will they do with Hanley Ramirez, move him to 2nd or trade him? If he can get back to his .940 ops days, he would be nice for us at 2nd or short but if he plays like last season he is overpaid.

There's been discussions about moving him to third. Whether he's happy about this signing is another thing. I'm sure if the Marlins can get full value for him they'd ideally like to trade him.

He's going to move to 3rd apparently, that makes the most sense. I see almost no way they trade him they have nothing at 3rd and hes at his lowest value.

Infante or Bonifacio now potential targets?

They could use Rajai in CF as a platoon mate for Coghlan... just sayin'

AA should work his magic and acquire Hanley from the Marlins now that they signed Reyes.

And play him where? We're set on the left side of the infield.

Buster_ESPN Buster Olney
View of some officials: Blue Jays will be among teams taking biggest hit with new labor agreement, because of shift in revenue sharing.

If TOR concurs with the read that they are impacted by reduction in their revenue sharing checks, it could impact their aggressiveness.

Quite simply, an early read on details of labor agreement is that Jays' revenue-sharing checks are being reduced. It's lost income for them.

If #Angels sign FA 3B Aramis Ramirez, they might have a taker for Alberto Callaspo in #BlueJays, who I'm hearing like Callaspo. Really.

Washington apparently has a 6 year deal on the table for CJ... could potentially eat up some of the money they would throw at Prince. If they do get him I wonder how long it takes for Werth and Wilson to be a tandem of the most over paid players in the game.

Fielder looks like he may have become a free agent the wrong year.
