This is on of the easiest calls so I'm happy that they have been decisive about it from the get go. All the other moves after this one though will be all though ones. It's going to be hard coming up with a blue print that the majority of fans will be happy about. It starts with Steve so I guess he holds the key. If he says he's willing to play out the whole year I guess that's what we do. If he asks to be traded then that's going to be a whole different approach. Would be good to know what exactly the team would do but I guess right now we just wait.

From valleyofthesuns.com

"By ValleyoftheSuns’ salary numbers, the Suns will be on the hook for about $53.5 million in salaries after waiving Vince, but that number is over $64 million when you add the cap holds on Grant Hill and Aaron Brooks into the equation. When you consider both players will likely play for something closer to the $3 million-plus range (if Brooks plays at all), that puts Phoenix at $60 million (without including Markieff Morris’ deal)."

I'm guessing the team can use their midlevel. If not full at least close to it.

The question with VC is - first, he had to be waived by Dec. 6 or we had to pay him the full year. Now it's reported he has to be waived within 72 hours of the start of free agency, Dec. 9. Another site (ESPN) says he has to be waived with 72 hours of "the start of his free agency", (italics mine) which means - what? Does all free agency start at the whistle on Dec. 9? Is VC a free agent on Dec. 6, or three days later?

That seriously affects what can be done with him. I still believe there are teams that would take him so they can cut the $14mil (after buyout) from their budget. Hope springs eternal ...

The good news either way is, he's gone.

Official start of free agency meaning the first day that players can sign is Dec 9. S0 it's going to be 72 hours starting from Dec 9. They will waive him as soon as they can.
