He's a decent option, but I still prefer the consistency and defense of Battier, or Tayshaun Prince.

He is an option though. And he also adds to the thick class of inexpensive veteran wings which makes it more likely that their price stays cheap.

I still hope we have a spot for James Jones.

I'd prefer Battier. But VC would be a good vet minimum guy. I think he wants to come back to this area as well to be with his daughter. So it might work out for both sides.

If you got Battier and VC it would really help lower Lebron and Wade's minutes, and might allow us to play Lebron more at the 1.

I'd prefer T-Mac to VC though just because of his PG skills. But VC can shoot the 3 and I think he'd be content to take a smaller role and just chill.

I would definitely give him a look for the minimum, it can't hurt. The guy can still play and would give a decent scoring punch off the bench. Him and Battier would be infinitely better than what they had at the backup spots last year. It would also give the Heat a chance to limit Wade and LeBrons minutes so they don't burn out come playoff time. You can never have too much depth with a shortened season and all the 2 games/2 nights & 3 games/3 nights they will have this year.

Oh yeah and this can only make James Jones easier and easier to resign.

Obviously Batter is the first option as a wing, but Vince would be a solid addition IMO.

Nothing more than the vet min. If that's not enough to get him, go after someone like Grant Hill or Anthony Parker (If the Knicks don't get him first).

Jones >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kapono.
Kapono can not defend his own shadow while Jones is an above average defender, & is excellent at taking the charge.

If VC does end up in Miami he will come off the bench to provide scoring.

Oh man, the Heat would have crazy dunkathons in warm-ups

And maybe playing with 3 formal rivals and a legit coach would help

For the minimum yes for anything else no. Also Carter is not really a Riley type player, I would much rather bring in more guys like battier than a carter or a Mcgrady.

VC would take the mini-MLE or the minimum. He's getting a guaranteed 4 million to him this year through his contract with the Magic/Nets or whatever. If he asks for more than that, he's an idiot.

I doubt Carter even cares about money. He wants to win, plain and simple. In addition, Florida is his ideal destination so I know he wants to come to Miami. He would play limited minutes behind Wade and Lebron and be able to contribute significantly. Miami could use a scorer that comes off the bench, has a veteran mentality, and wants to win at all costs. I'd take him over Battier only because he can bring more to the table.

Adding Vince Carter, Shane Battier, and Kwame Brown would make me happy.

You guys must be joking? His shot selections might be among the worst in the legue, besides he cant play any defence.

Not my top choice. I'd rather go after Anthony Parker or take a flyer on Michael Redd. Let's get some floor spacing.

considering we have eddie house as our two I would take a chance on vince.

Battier is nice but him and haslem on the floor is repetitive. I would rather Tayshaun Prince who is a better defender/rebounder/shooter/scorer than Shane. Prince can also run the offense. Im sorry but you dont offer a 33yo Battier $5 million imo.

Wierd to me Beasley was under contract for less 3-5 mill and we traded for nothing. Great.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

I rather this guy not have anything to do with the Heat. His often lackadaisical play and head-scratching decision? No thank you.
