Who knew, its like DEJA VU: Draft Perry Jones III in 2013

Post#1 » by Steely Reserve » Wed Nov 30, 2011 10:40 am

He can play the wing, ya'll. But regardless, you draft him anyway because I think Tristan has value as an undersized Center.

Irving/Baron
Eyenga/Boobie
Perry Jones III
Tristan
Varejao

Play this line up and just run, run, run and then run some more.

Deja vu? More like a reoccurring nightmare.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

You want to take the guy we just drafted and make him an undersized Center?, lol.

Perry Jones has the chance to be very good. I'd be happy to have him, but I can't say he'd be my priority target at this point.

a starting lineup featuring Eyenga, TT, and AV would be so hilarious to watch on offense

tho I am glad people support a running team, since that has worked out so well in the past....erm, wait a second!

Running teams dont work usually because of rebounding and defense. TT and Andy can run, rebound, and play defense.

Cavs have no choice but to run with Andy and Tristan on the floor together.

I knew I was not the only one who was thinking the same thing. Oh well, it feels good to finally have some buzz around here. Lets refrain from any bashing here in this thread or it will get locked up.

PJ3 will be a 4, I don't even see the need for debate about him playing the wing, y'all. I would take him, however, and either look to move TT or bring him off the bench. An Irving/PJ3 pick and roll would be a thing of beauty. That's if we miss out on Davis and Drummond though...and even then I'd still probably rather have Lamb but it's defintely gonna come down to how Jones plays this season.

I am pretty certain that an Irving/TT pick and roll can be as good as, if not better than, an Irving/PJIII pick and roll. Thompson has the length, hands, and athleticism to be an ideal finisher in the pick and roll.

Ahhhhh.... no.

TT has the hands and length but not the jumper and deft finishing ability around the rim that Perry has.

Tristan and Perry could play together. They both have athletic ability while being strong in areas where the other isnt.

So you need a jumper to run the pick and roll?..

Andy isn't a long term option here.

Still, it's not really a coincidence that the best teams tend to be in the middle of the pack, if not slower, when it comes to pace. Building a running team would not be a great decision, imo.

Also wanted to note that this thread is making me dislike the TT pick even more. Too many PFs available in this draft...

I think that PJ3 and TT can play together though. Same with Davis. I still really wish we took Jonas Valancunius but I think that a PJ3 TT duo would work well.

We'd look awefully foolish having drafted JV once Greg Oden signs here next year.
