I guess Snyder or Thames don't fit the bill?

Prado is a typical AA type of target. He would be a good get for 2B, but I don't think the Braves are about to get hoodwinked again.

I'd offer one of Thames/Snider for Prado. He'd be our starting 2B, and we'd get the picks for Kelly Johnson.

Doesn't look like ATL wants either of them and who can blame them.

When I first read the report. I was thinking we have Thames and Snider. Wouldn't be a bad deal for both.

Yes please. Precisely the kind of production we need from 2B, and he's only 28.

I'd do Thames + B-type prospect for him.

“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Prado is probably the best option after Johnson. He is coming off a bad year, but his previous two and a half years were very good. I don't know how good he is defensively at 2B, but as a one or two year option, he is solid. I highly doubt the Braves wouldn't trade Prado for Snider (unless Snider's prospect value has hit rock bottom). Thames is a different story.

As a follow-up:

gregorMLB Gregor Chisholm
#BlueJays remain open to the idea of signing Johnson to a multiyear extension if he accepts arbitration.

All that being said... Johnson should be able to secure a more lucrative deal through free agency and likely will decline arbitration.

I'm a fan... had him in fantasy two years ago and he really broke out. Had some injury problems this year, so if we can buy low on him, that'd be great. Can hit and has versatility all over the field.

Would much prefer him over Johnson.

if they want a LF thumper, take Lind or Encarnacion.

Lind was in LF before he went to DH/1B.

Encarnacion started picking up LF end of last season.

Don't really want Prado for that asking price. I'd prefer Izturis or Callaspo as stop gaps.

I agree. What more can Prado offer at 34 years of age? The decline has already started

Prado was born in 1983 -- he is 28 years old.

He has had 2.5 solid years and one down year. Hard to call a trend.

I stand corrected. He is only 28 and still overrated. He can't play defense and hits way too many groundballs. Also don't think hitting .300 is a lock next year.

I'd still rather resign KJ.
