If that's the case, this is probably a decent deal. Odom is on a pretty decent contract as it is, but he does have a team option, next year I think. Gasol has a 15% trade kicker which will hurt the checkbook. Bynum does have a team option in his final year worth 16 mil.

RoyceWebb Royce Webb, ESPN NBA
In case you're wondering whether the Lakers might end up with a Big 3 of Chris Paul, Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant ... the answer is no.

Finally some sense from ESPN.

If Dwight really says he wants to be traded to LA .. Otis has to make sure we get maximum value in return.

1) Trade includes Arenas and/or Hedo
2) Get back Bynum AND Gasol + Odom or Artest .. Just gut their team
3) Trade Gasol to another team for a (borderline)-All Star like Ellis/Gay/Iggy/Granger

This franchise/Arena doesn't need a lottery team, so IF, he really wants to be traded, there are enough options available to keep Orlando at a decent Level

who wants a "decent level"?

I do not and it would be sad watch. Let him walk if he will not resign. The Amway Center will be just fine.
let paid professionals do their job, don't you try and do it for them...

Munsoned is from king pins with bill murray and woody harrelson basically means screw up badly.

I think with the la thing moving dwight/hedo/arenas for lamar/pau/bynum LA will not be competing for a title or another FA with Gilbert/bryant/dwight/hedo they will be over 75mil alone in salary!

We would be trading for a front court with two titles for the best center in the world and 2 or the top 5 worst contracts in the league

LA's roster would be:
PG Fisher or Arenas
SG Bryant
SF Artest
PF Hedo?? he creates better mismatches at the 3
C Howard

Depnding on how much Bryant still has left, its an ok roster, but not one that would win a title. at some point, Kobe has to fall off. The question is......when?

I know what you're saying, but I think that if there's really only the option of letting him walk and still be stuck with Arenas&Hedo (meaning, cap hell) OR you could try to get as much as you can in return and have a chance to contend faster than if we had to go through the draft ..

Would you really prefer going through the draft? Maybe, ok ..

But as much as I have said I didn't want it, or how bad it is, or how stupid it is from Dwight to want it, IF he really says trade me or I walk .. Otis should check what's available.

We should think about our team in the first place. If we could get pieces in return that could make us a good team again sooner than going through the draft, put your emotions aside, we should consider it .. No matter how bad we hate the idea of trading him

The organisation has to make the right decision. If he really wants to be traded, you explore it. If not, let him walk & go through the draft. But from the organisation's POV, a team with Hedo Turkoglu&Jameer Nelson as your best players isn't gonna sell tickets.

I wonder if he greenlit some crazy scheme to otis adding way to much salary and Devos boys stepped in and said what are you nuts? And that was the end of BVW, this could mean they have pulled a Den and said we are not going through this all season find the best package and pull the trigger....

As I said in the other thread... this is a not a good sign imo... I think we can all relate this decision completely on the Dwight/Otis meeting from yesterday

To the other retweet, Dwight needs to man up and speak up and declare his intentions. He and CP3 are top dominoes. Whole NBA needs to know.

I agree it's not good, but it doesn't have to do with the meeting, not specifically, I don't think, because Baumann is saying he knew of this 2 days ago.
