Is it really that big a news? I don't think there's a lot of people who thought Hanley would be happy about having to shift to third. I just hope you're not implying we trade for him.

Talented disgruntled player? That fits AA's MO to a tee.

Who's showing signs of decline and a horrible defender at that? What's the point? What kind of players do you think the Jays would have to give up to get him? We have a need at first base...let's start addressing our holes.

I read somewhere that they wanted to move him to the OF as well. Not surprised he wants out, he said this last season too.

AA made the Santos deal, which makes other GMs comfortable when it comes to trading with him.

I could AA trying to make a deal here.

If Hanley is traded he'll goto a team that has an excess amount of pitchers anyway. San Fran perhaps?

Demand or not, I can understand if the Marlins decide to trade him, especially if they sign Pujols. On the one hand, a lineup featuring Reyes, Ramirez, and Pujols is awesome. On the other hand, they could use pitching, and trading Ramirez for a good SP and others might be more helpful to the team. But I guess some of that depends on where Wilson and Buerhle sign, as well.

As for the Jays' interest, I really hope there isn't any. A few years ago, I'd have been out of my mind to say something like that. But I've really lost a lot of fondness for the guy. Seems to be getting fatter and fatter, lazier and lazier. Plus, big contract.
Good Lord, the little stoner's got a point.
