i posted the mags interview in the training camp thread.... say what you want about mags, but he definitely sounds the part of leader.

Does he have a history of giving good interviews this way? Or is he seemingly different?

Re: silas expects maggette to carry the load
Mags is by all accounts a great guy in the locker room and in person. I have nothing against him until he steps onto a basketball court.
FWIW I think Maggette really wants to help a team, he just doesn't understand how. When he was a Warrior it got to the point where the home fans were booing him. When that happened it was obvious that he took it hard, and you could tell he was trying to step up his game. And some good things came of it, like his rebounding went up.
But in the end he thinks that his purpose is to put his head down and try to get to the free throw line. And he will put up good personal numbers doing it, many times. He will score "efficiently", which masks the problems to the casual observer. The real way he hurts you is by driving down the efficiency of his teammates, and of his team's defense. The way he drives down his teammates efficiency is that when things go wrong for him he throws the ball to someone else with no time on the clock, and then they get blamed (statistically) for the horrible efficiency of that shot. Plus he just never sets up teammates, so they have lower efficency than they do when a passer is out there instead of Maggs. And then he hurts the defense both by being a poor defender and also by turning the ball over at a very high rate, which leads to a lot of layups.
We took to calling him "Bad Porn". As in, sure there is lots of scoring and penetration, but are you really happy with what you are seeing?

Then he is PERFECT for the job of Tank Captain! Sounds like Jax without winning too many games and making us look bad publicly.

Yikes! 24 wins??? You're setting the bar to low!! Remember now, the season is only 66 games so we need to shoot for something like 15 wins. That should put us in the running for a top 5 pick. Here's to an injury riddled season! (just not Kemba, Hendo and Biz)

24 would be like 30 wins in a regular season. I think we were slated to win 25ish if we played 82 games. I think we're looking at 18-20 wins, give or take a Mags 50 point outing and DJ flooding the court with his tears because Kemba took his job.

Whatever our franchise record is for shot attempts in a game by a single player, I think its about to get dwarfed.

Most field goals attempted
Richardson – 32
Wallace – 30
Richardson – 28 (2 times)
Wallace – 27

mags must hit 33 FGAs to get the new record. considering he gets to the line so much, it might be hard for him to get up 32 FGAs.
* amazing that jax isnt on this list.

Wow, wish I had seen the game where Fabio rained 6 threes.

there used to be a youtube mix of the game where herrmann put up like 32 vs the hawks. he was awesome during that spring 07 run.
