Chris Paul

Post#1 » by ADoaN17 » Tue Dec 6, 2011 11:15 pm

If Kings get Chandler, is there any chance CP3 would be interested in the Kings? He said he is interested in the Clippers and Warriors IF they sign Chandler.

Who would the Kings trade? Would you guys want to trade Tyreke for CP3? It seems like the Kings are acquiring tons of talent. The Kings don't have a first round pick to trade next season tho.

@WojYahooNBA
Paul has indicated Clippers and Warriors could raise chances of keeping him long-term if they sign center Tyson Chandler too, sources say.

It would still certainly be a longshot, but it's at least interesting to look at. I think you have to consider trading Tyreke, and that would absolutely push us up near the front of the line in terms of attractive offers.

My guess is both Evans & J.T. both have to be in the deal .
If not Evans , Green & Whiteside in the deal as I am sure they would want alot of young talent if they cant get picks.

Well, if the Hornets are really considering that deal for Golden State the Kings are a in a much better position to beat that. I however hope they don't try, Paul is a good player but overrated. I'd rather see this team stay the course and build around two physically dominant types in Evans and Cousins.

Even though, Evans, Thompson, and Fredette for Paul. Sign Chandler and re-sign Thornton. Interesting but no thanks, build around Cuz.

How so? The guy won 46 games with a pretty crappy supporting cast, made the playoffs in the West which while weaker is still tough, won a couple games in the playoffs and is arguably one of the top three points in the game. Add Paul, subtract Evans and the Kings make the playoffs this year. I love Evans but Paul would improve the team. I still dont believe that either Jimmer or Evans can play point full time or consistently get other players good shots.

I'm leery about Paul's knees.

Combined with Chandler's injury prone career.

Before the last two years this guy was the second coming and in reality he just wasn't all that IMO. Crappy supporting cast? It's called experience and they had a pretty experienced team around him of which the pieces had been together for awhile. No thanks to Paul.

Yeah. Paul is in no way overrated. That team would have been among the league's worst every year for the past 5 years without him, and the idea of putting "David West" and "2 time all-star" in the same sentence would seem ridiculous.

I do not want to have to overpay but I would overpay Chandler if it meant we could also land CP3

I understand you may not like him and that's cool but his team wasn't that good or that experienced. Ariza was new, Landry was added midseason, Belinelli was new, Aaron Gray, Jason Smith and Jack were all new to the team last year so they weren't around for a while. West, Oak and Paul isn't exactly a threesome that strikes fear in opponents. The more I look, that cast sucks something fierce and they still won 46 plus two playoff games against LA. Makes me realize how good CP3 really is honestly.

The system they had was still in place and taking experienced role players and putting them into a well organized system is not spectacular. They weren't legit contenders after they lost Chandler anyway. Everyone thought Paul and the Hornets were going to take over the league and they didn't. Kind of dimmed his star a little.

They didn't because Chandler started to play worse/got injured and he never had that much talent behind him to begin with. Peja was never near the form he was with when with the Kings, their SG spot has always been crap, and David West is a product largely of Chris Paul.
