Sorry I didnt respond promptly. Nash is a little outside the age range of my core players Jordan and Griffin.

Blake
DeRozan/Turner/Neal
Green/Batum/Kleiza
Scola/Odom
Lee/Caracter/Scola

Batum, Turner and Neal are probably leaving, so don't bother yourself making offers for them. I'll get my PG, all i need now is a center. Offer me some centers for the likes of DeRozan, Scola, Odom, Lee, Caracter...

The Miami Heat are currently at:
Brendan Haywood / Kevin Seraphin / Dexter Pittman
Chris Bosh / Ryan Anderson
LeBron James / Mike Miller / Andres Nocioni
Courtney Lee / Jamaal Crawford
John Wall / Jeremy Lin

I'm pretty happy with my team overall, but upgrades at the Center and SG positions are always welcome.

Really looking to keep Jamaal Crawford as a sixth man, and find a more defense-oriented shooter as a starter. Someone like Courtney Lee, actually lol.

Nocioni is expiring, and I wouldn't mind trading for a productive unpleasant contract. I wouldn't mind packaging Miller with him as well.

So far, it's going pretty smoothly and aside from a few FA hiccups I don't see reason to complain. If a FA didn't take your offer..it isn't the end of the world. Funny coming from me because I make so many trades but still that has nothing to do with my position.

There are a few things I feel are sorely missing from the game. The first is numbering trades. I know some people are trying to do it, and it might not seem important, but its one of those small details that makes the game run smoother.

Similar to that is having the commissioner approve trades. I know it might not seem necessary, and adds work for the commissioner, but it makes the game run smoother and makes sure rules are being followed. For example, this deal. There's no record of the Oden signing in the FA thread, so I have no clue if this was legit. However, he's been traded since, so I guess we'll have to keep it as is (he was traded to me, I found the issue when trying to track down Oden's complete salary info post-trade for my roster page). I don't think there has to be a 24-hour window, just for commish to let GMs know that the trade can go through. A separate thread, as r0cd0gg did it, worked great!

I don't think it was intentional, but tiered free agency seems to have curbed the usually excessive contracts being signed because GMs are often forced to save for certain players. I hope we keep this in future games. Just a suggestion to the commish, please post the yearly breakdown of the contracts so future GMs who trade for a player don't have to do the backwards math to figure out the contracts. GMs should be giving you this when they initially submit their FA offers to you anyways, so this shouldn't really be any extra work.

The game is rolling along fairly smoothly, but I think these things will help in future editions of GMaT.

Yeah and maybe a couple more personnel. Like someone to take care of free agency, then one guy who confirms the trades, etc.

The commish must be swamped.

That can be up to the commish IMO. Some do better handling those than others. I would just make sure that the commish trusts who they put in charge. Sometimes things get delegated to whoever volunteers first, even though they might not be qualified for the job. That can be what makes these games turn south quickly.

I appreciate the constructive comments about the game vs bitching in this thread. I agree - NUMBER the trades so we can track player movement - check salaries, etc. And GMs should list their transactions - (not just the numbers) on their rosters - whatever format they want.
Has anyone seen Tony Parker? I rest my case!

However, the pre approved trades is a great change because the updating of rosters is at least 50% better in this game than any I have been in. This includes accurate payrolls which is necessary and was grossly abused in old games. All GMs should be checking - and honest mistakes should be called to the Traders attention to correct.

I would agree that we should go back to GMs having to post their FA signings which would start the match time - and the contract should be spelled out.

I would tweak the amnesty provision in future games so they are declared within the first 3 days of the game so a list could be constructed and people could target those players like the FA. I also liked the pre posting of the FA Tiers from prior games - again so you could manipulate your cap space to get players your want.

Overall, this game has run better that any of the 4 prior games I have played which is not to rag on the prior games GMs but to acknowledge what i feel to be a great job by Karmaloops who admitted he would be pressed for time from the outset of this game.

One of the problems with the broken up free agency system is that if you had a good Rfa you had to use your space early. In the real NBA if you had space you could sign free agents to the cap then go over to sign your own for example Marcus Thornton a real good RCA availability was two days after deandre jordan. I ALxo like that you could amnesty later just like the real NBA it makes good free agents available to more people

Devin Harris / Goran Dragic / Jonny Flynn
Chase Budinger / Jordan Crawford
Trevor Ariza / Luke Babbitt
Kris Humphries / Marcus Morris
DeMarcus Cousins / Joel Anthony / Daniel Orton

Looking to build around Cousins, everyone can be had in the right deal. Looking specifically for a young guard with promise to pair with DeMarcus.

Cousins is tradeable, but it will take a lot to get him.

Lawson/Blake
DeRozan/Afflalo
Green/Kleiza
Scola/Odom/Lee/Andersen
Hawes/Lee/Andersen/Caracter

Looking to move some very solid PF's. Needed to improve:

Starting C position. Prefered: defensive C.
SF position (both back-up and starting).
Back up PG. Blake is solid though.
Star player for a nice package of mine.

Not desperate to make a lot of trades, so not looking to overpay for anyone.

Lawson is valued highly and will be traded only if i get a good, PG in return.

Miami is currently at:

Samuel Dalembert / Brendan Haywood / Kevin Seraphin / Dexter Pittman
Chris Bosh / Ryan Anderson
LeBron James / Mike Miller / Andres Nocioni
Courtney Lee / Jamaal Crawford
John Wall / Jeremy Lin

Overall, quite happy with the roster, but always looking to improve.

I'm also looking to cut a little salary. Mike Miller is open to be dumped. I wouldn't mind trading Nocioni (expiring) for a smaller contract along with Jeremy Lin and Dexter Pittman.
