I watched the ESPN sportscenter NBA special last night and it made me sick, I am fed up with espn at this point. I hate C Broussard, Legler, Barrry and just about every other basketball analyst there all biased Miami, LA jock sniffers.

If CP falls through, I'm fine with trying to scoop up Nash and maybe another player. Nash would probably make Howard more dominant than he would be with Paul, but the team as whole would suffer.

Reading the articles on hoopshype this morning we are actually mentioned by the New Orleans paper as having an offer in for CP3, and the LA paper says we only had breif talks with the Lakers and there was no mention of trade offers. And pretty much the same story about Dwight and the Clips. So if you get away from the ESPN Spin Zone there is some unbiased news out there.

The thing with Nash is his age. It's hard to give up all the assets we have for him. If he were a few yrs younger, no brainer; but I think at this point, he has roughly 2-3 yrs left.

The thing about Nash is regardless of his age he has one of those games that doesn't rely on athleticism or speed....His game is very crafty and methodical but at the same time unpredictable being that he can drop an amazing dime at any time....i would imagine he would still be a top 5 PG at 40 imho

Funny, all this speculation about Crawford and then this tool comes out:

http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/33799/do-it-yourself-free-agent-bargain-shopping

and he is directly mentioned as someone to not overpay.

So that guarantees we will sign him to a max deal...

I agree. Our offense would have to completely change to maximize his talents & production. NO more just standing and watching Dwight.

Nash would be nice depending on what we are giving up. His contract expires next summer therefore we could still remain competitive this year while shedding salary to be in the Deron and Paul sweepstakes in the summer.

If we S&T JRich for Ellis, who would you also include as filler? Would you take Biedrins? Is there any player we could realistically flip Biedrins for?

Would probably be JRich/Nelson/JJ for Ellis/Biedrins if I was guessing, If GS moves curry/klay/udoh for paul they would need a back up pg and sg for paul and richardson

So after reading the past couple pages... IF GSW trades for CP3... we are still in the running for Ellis, with a S&T w/ J-Rich?

I can live with that. Even if GSW doesn't trade Curry (and fillers) for CP3... I'd still keep going after CP3 OR Ellis...

Otis almost made it through the interview without throwing Dwight under the Orlando Magic and Otis Smith bus, saying "we're building a winning team, and we don't listen to everything Dwight has to say." Geeze man, just check your ego for a week.

Otis..."When you have one of the top 5 or 10 players in the league, you're going to go through free agency." "We have one of the best players in the league."

I just wish Otis would say we've got the best player in the league, not like your bargaining with the guy to get his contract value lowered.

Otis is a damn fool, not the time to make inflammatory comments
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Maybe his brain is still on lockout, Otis is such an idiot.

Even if you dont mean it you say you have the best guy in the league and thats why you will do whatever it takes to make him happy.

Otis basically said today that he wants to keep Dwight in Orlando, that he doesn't have a backup plan because Dwight hasn't said he's leaving (great idea btw) and that teams handle free agency in different ways. Cleveland, Toronto?, and Orlando.

Not sure about the Toronto reference, how would that team randomly pop in his head? We trading for Calderon?

He also said that he listens to Dwight about what he wants, but also listens to every player on the Magic. His goal is to build a winning team and he doesn't always just go along with Dwight's wishes just for the sake of doing so.

the funny thing about the Otis hate for the trade last year is that even if we did still have Gortat and and Vince's expiring contract and Pietrus, that still wouldn't be enough to beat either LAC or GS supposed offer.

Still would help us a lot in acquiring someone other than Paul though
