Crawford and Nash in the Backcourt wow!!!!

Post#1 » by general » Tue Dec 6, 2011 6:47 pm

Nash mentioned along with Lebron They Want Crawford. There is something behind That. Both guards can get there shot off and rejuvenate each other there will be highlight plays all game.Crawford is a 40 point scorer who is unguardable 1 on 1 That you don't have to pay $15mill a year for. And I know he's Not in his 20's but he has a young body and shows no signs of slowing Down, He doesnt put alot of stress on his Body it seems. This just may be what The suns Need and 1 solid Big Man.

Crawford needs the ball to be effective so he would have huge problems in our system. I'm so glad that VC is gone and now we want another chucker? Absolutely no to Jamal Crawford.

BTW: A Nash-Crawford backcourt would nearly allow 100 points per game.

No That's not True.IF you know Basketball he only avg 14ppg last season because he had Joe johnson,Josh smith and Al Horford shooting before him and still managed to Shine so Don't believe you.He can play with anyone then he avg 20.5ppg in playoffs and single handed took Orlando out.

40 point scorer? Unguardable?

I'd rather not have a chucker, who can't defend or rebound worth a damn getting paid what he more than likely will demand. He's not worth MLE. PASS.

I would take a one year deal with Crawford, as long as its a true one year, and it isnt a crazy amount. He is a chucker by some peoples definition on this board, but another way to look at is, he is a scorer, and could be a primary ball handler when Nash goes to the bench. J. Rich learned to play off the ball here when no one said he could, and Crawford would adapt just as well. He aint skiddish about taking big shots, and if he is hot, can be unguardable at times, its hard to stay in front of him as a defender. He is a legit 6"5 and fills a need for us as a LEGIT SCORER!!, without morgaging our future cap room. The guy can flat out shoot it, and I would rather gamble on that than Michael Redd, or guys like Anthony Morrow, or some of the other long shots mentioned on this board. (just my opinion ofcourse) Leaves us free to draft a Sg. or cash in on a 2012 free-agent Sg. Thats ofcourse if we cant get Mayo, who is a lot like Crawford in the fact that he is a secondary ball handler, dosent play great defense, and can get hot and carry a team in streaches.

Agreed. Although I wouldn't start him. I would start Dudley, and have him come off the bench like he did in ATL.

Can he play backup point on this team though?

Crawford, Dudley, Childress, Morris, Frye

That could really go either way..

Good thought DRK, he would still be getting starter minutes however. Amnesty Childress. If we were able to get Crawford for a little less than the price we are paying Childress it would be fine for me. And if we were able to get him on a one year deal, that would be amazing, but that isn't happening, lol.

Crawford will return to Chicago this season... No chance for Suns.

4 decent-to-very-good defenders, three 3-pt shooters, 1 good slasher/finisher, 1 tough rookie ... and no point guard

The thread title sounds like an ebay listing

I do agree that Crawford would be a good addition, in the Barbosa mold, and at the same pricetag. That is, $6mil-$7mil, and anything over that is clearly overpaying for a one dimensional player of that type. Look at Jason Terry, he was always a contender for the 6th man throughout his big contract but never a big commodity because his pricetag was far too high. Look at Ben Gordon. On the other hand, Barbosa, who was in the same category, we were able to move quite easily and he will probably be traded again at least once in the upcoming season.

So, my point is, yes, we could use Crawford as a commodity off the bench, but I'd prefer to pass if he was to ask more than the max MLE, which we couldn't afford anyway (barring a S&T involving VC which we aren't interested in).

Also, I do feel that its far more important to address the need of an inside scoring, preferably in the mold of a starting PF. I'd love to see if Utah is interested in dealing Milsap for cheap still.

Millsap, Bell, Okur for VC, Lopez, 2nd?

Spend mini-MLE on Ben Uzoh, Earl Watson, Ronnie Price, TJ Ford (a backup PG) or even resign Dowdell & Hill obviously.

Nash/Watson
Pietrus/Bell
Dudley/Hill
Millsap/Lawal
Gortat/Frye

Nash can definitely elevate Millsap to near Amar'e level, and that team looks real good.

Wait---Please provide some sort of article or evidence suggesting Steve Nash wants Crawford on the Suns. I can't find anything.
