2012 Thunder Player Predictions

Post#1 » by fallacy » Sun Dec 4, 2011 4:29 am

I wanted to create a thread to see how my player predictions look at the end of the year. You can put yours here too if you want

Durant - 31 ppg, 6 rebs, 3.5 asts, 1 stl, 1 blk, 2.5 TO, 47 fg%, 38 3pt%, 88 ft%

Westbrook - 18 ppg, 8.5 asts, 3 rebs, 1.5 stl, .3 blk, 3.1 TO, 44 fg%, 35 3pt%, 86 ft%

Harden - 18 ppg, 4 asts, 3 rebs, 1.5 stls, .5 blks, 1.5 TO, 47 fg%, 38 3pt%, 85 ft%

Ibaka - 12 ppg, 11 rebs, 25 total assists, 3 blks, .5 stls, 1 TO, 55 fg%, 78 ft%

Perkins - 6 ppg, 9 rebs, 1.0 asts, 1.5 blks, .5 stls, 2.3 TO, 50 fg%, 55 ft%

Maynor - 4 ppg, 3 asts, 1.5 rebs, .5 stl, 0 blk, .5 TO, 42 fg%, 40 3pt%, 75 ft%

Collison - 5 ppg, 5 rebs, 1 ast, .5 stl, .5 blk, 59 fg%, 75 ft%

Nazr - 6 ppg, 4 rebs, 0 ast, 0 stl, .5 blk, 55 fg%, 65 ft%

I'm predicting our scoring to be very top heavy with Ibaka and Harden scoring more and Westbrook scoring less than last year but increasing his percentages. Of course with Westbrook, it could go the exact opposite of what I predict.

I think our rebounding numbers are going to stop going toward Durant/Westbrook/Harden and more toward the interior players Ibaka/Perkins/Collison

Also, just look at our starting lineup this year compared to last year

Westbrook
Sefolosha
Durant
Green
Kristic

compared to

Westbrook
Harden
Durant
Ibaka
Perkins

I'm getting excited to start the season up finally. 22 more days.

No. With Brooks, we probably won't know until the day before the season starts

Westbrook 19.7 pts, 9.0 ast, 4,3 reb, 44,7 FG%
Harden 15,4 pts, 3,8 reb, 3,6 ast, 45,8 FG%, 39,2 3pt%, 31 mins/game
Ibaka 11,8 pts, 8,9 reb, 2,7 blk, 30 mins/game
Perkins 6,8 pts, 8,2 reb, 1,3 blk, 55FG%

Durant 27pts, 6reb, 4ast,
Westbrook 21pts, 11ast 3reb
Harden 19pts, 3reb, 3ast
Ibaka 16pts, 11reb, 3blk
Perkins 7pts, 9reb 1.5blk

I do think we are going to see Cole Aldrich get more minutes behind Perkins and his production should reasonably go up.

Aldrich 6 pts, 8 reb, 1.5 blk, 18mpg

If aldrich plays 18 mpg for the season without any injuries, I will mail you ten bucks. No way that happens. Nazr and Nick are the backups. Cole might get 5-10 minutes every now and then, but it won't be much.

Why would you even say that? Aldrich had one minor injury in college for like 2 games and had a minor shoulder injury in the NBA that prevented him from being available for what? 3 games?...... Where do you get that he will all the sudden get injured?

I meant without any injuries to Perk, Ibaka, Nazr, or Nick, not Cole. The only way he'll get playing time is if someone ahead of him gets hurt.

Nah.
Perkins is a 20mpg guy, he rarely plays more then say, 24. Nick is more often used (and better used) as a PF then center and OKC will probably play Nazr with limited minutes until closer to the play-offs.
Aldrich is a guy that Sammy boy will want to feed and develop as he is a perfect fit to play split minutes with Perkins (more-so then anyone else really).

I think even after you get past the 18mpg (which seems really high at this point I think... The numbers you have him putting up would be similar to Perkins' in one of his best seasons in Boston. I just don't see that type of productivity at this point from Cole. For example, Collison (who is significantly more skilled and a better rebounder at this point) averaged 4.6pts/4.5rbs in 21 mpg last season. To put it another way, I don't think it's possible that Cole plays at the 16pp48/21rp48 that you have him at.

If Aldrich plays that much that means there was an injury...

I'm gonna hold off on these predictions until FA period is over :)

If Aldrich averages 8 rebounds in 18 MPG, he should be playing more than 18 minutes >.>

So about two weeks ago i wrote out a huge post and lost it when I tried to post it. Totally sucked.

Durant 30pts, 7rebs, 3dimes, 1.5stls, 1blk

Westbrook 20pts, 5rebs, 10dimes, 2stls.

Harden 18pts, 4.5rebs, 4.5 dimes, 2 stls

Ibaka 13pts, 8rebs, 3blks.

Perk 8pts, 8rebs 1blk

Cole will actually get minutes due to Collison's tutelage.

Collison has a reduced role until the playoffs.

Maynor more of the same. 4.5pts and 3dimes

Cook will shoot more 3's than 2's

I think it would be smart to give Harden the start but most importantly i want him closing games and getting starter minutes.

I guess with Perk, Ibaka and Thabo in the starting 5 Durant and Westbrook can get their shots early. Personally I don't care to have Harden start the game on the bench but someone has to run the second unit.

If preseason is a preview of the season, i'm regretting what I said for perkins, Nazr, and Ibaka. Nazr and Ibaka look worse than what I guess and Perkins looks much better.

Dont be that harsh. Ibaka is just fine, we all know he will be at least as good as last year, plus he is in the starting five from the beginning, so its almost guaranteed that he will put up better numbers too.
As of Nazr, he is a veteran guy, who wont just "waist" his energy for preseason games, if you know what I mean. And in case it turns out that his tank is really empty, which I doubt, there is still Cole Aldrich, who would not be a major downgrade to Nazr as far as I can tell his development.

As for Perk, he does look awesome and Im sure he will be great if no injuries.

I'm pretty proud about my Harden pick so far, I'm almost 100% correct.

Predicted - 18 ppg, 4 asts, 3 rebs, 1.5 stls, .5 blks, 1.5 TO, 47 fg%, 38 3pt%, 85 ft%
Actual ~~ - 17.4ppg, 4 asts, 4 rebs, 1 steal, .2 blks, 1.6 TO, 47 fg%, 39 3pt%, 90 ft%

On the other end of the spectrum, I was dead wrong about Ibaka.

So far this season he's having career lows (per minute) of; points, rebounds, FGA, FGM, FTA, FTM, FG%, TS%, eFg%, TRB%, USG%, Win Shares

Ibaka is having career highs though in; Blocks, Assists, TOV%, DefRtg
