Timberwolves training camp

Post#1 » by teven_1 » Wed Dec 7, 2011 2:32 pm

Does anyone know when it begins? I read somewhere it begins on the 9th, but I can't find the article anymore. I'm pretty excited for it, since we'll get to hear a little more about how this team is meshing and if reports of off-season improvement are valid.
(Rubio shooting, Wes dribbling, Love conditioning...I mean yes he dropped weight but how will it effect his game?, Darko actually played basketball over the off-season...a first apparently)

Does anyone think we'll have any surprises? Malcolm Lee better than expected? he may be the only pure SG on the roster?

Tolliver winning over Adelman (he's a very Adelman type player IMO)

thoughts?

I'm most interested to see if Darko or Randolph have improved. I still have somewhat high expectations for Darko for some reason. (yeah i know).

join the club (I'm actually very happy to here he actually touched a basketball in the offseason...I was scared he would have just been fishing)

I still think Darko was playing great basketball in November, until he got injured against the Knicks (he was shooting 4 for 4 before he got injured)

I see good things in Darko too, assuming he stays in good shape and is willing to take on a lesser role. If we use him right, which means keeping the ball out of his hands more on offense and when we do feed him, getting it to him in the right spots on the floor he can be OK. The offense under Rambis was a confusing mess. Darko, as a defensive specialist and garbage basket guy on offense, can be a very nice player.

I think he's got potential on offense (something I'm sure many people will disagree on) he missed some bunnies last year, and I'm not saying he's by any means our number 1 option but I can see him averaging double digits in points this year.

Darko and Pek shooting at TC. Both looking rather mean and lean

the better Rubio turns out to be the better Wes Johnson and Darko WILL be (and hopefully Beasley) since he could find them where they can score
(Love doesn't need the help, but he's vowing to post up more so Rubio will be throwing him the rock as well)

also, props to beasley:
On Wednesday, Beasley told David Kahn, Wolves president of basketball operations, that he was hopeful of putting a scrimmage together "to help us get a feel for each other."

Practicing seems more important than media day or taking a bunch of goofball photos in a photoshoot. Hopefully, they are not doing these things instead of practice.

Are Malcolm Lee and Derrick Williams going to be signed to partake in practice? Are we signing Lee?

All 30 teams do media day, not just us.
