not excellent IMO, means LAC might just let go of Gordon or he will end up in boston for Rondo, there are still multiple teams with more to offer than us

KBergCBS Ken Berger
Warriors and Clips hard-pressed to give up major asset w/o assurance from CP3 -- which they can't have for 6 months under new rules.

If teams are afraid CP3 won't stay for the long term, I doubt they take him on.

I thought they were one of the teams who would roll the dice seeing as this was the last year with their "big 3" together?

The plot thickens..

I dont think we're getting Paul though, so Id still go with Monta and Biendris filling a couple team needs while improving tremendously. I think there's going to be a trade from left field for Turk. I think he still has some value to contending teams.

This ish is confusing me....so GS is not offering Curry in a deal so that takes them out for right now....That leaves the clippers which in a trade they would likely have to part with Gordon and Jordan plus some picks....But then you have the WireTap saying that Chris Paul would like to play in LA WITH Gordon and Griffin....IDK maybe i'm over thinking it

^^ To also add, the Clippers are not willing to give up Gordon either because of fear that Paul won't resign with them.

EDIT- I need to post faster as my fellow posters already beat me to the punch...

^ I wish a trade for turk would happen, but i see no scenario where that plays out unless Dwight is going with him

if that's the case wouldn't that take them out of the race as well? After GS and the Clippers what other team can make a good offer without assurance that Paul will resign?

No way NO does that....that's giving up Chris Paul for mostly unproven players and a Question mark pick

It will be interesting if the Clips start to hold back that pick because there is no guarantee of CP3 staying with them. Then the story opens up a bit more to us. But that's a prayer.

So basically what I got flammed for saying on the GB is actually happening. Soooooo shocked that the CLips aren't willing to give up good players and picks without Paul re-signing...

Once again. There are only a few teams that would trade for paul with a promise to re-sign because they have nothing to lose...Mavs, Celtics, Magic.

-Orlando needs to go all in to keep Howard
-Dallas is old and would do anything to try and repeat
-Celtics are old and would do anything to squeeze another title run for their aging stars. Paul>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rondo.

It's stupid to think a young team would risk all their youth and good picks for a rental...No **** the clips dont want to give up Gordon, Jordan AND picks. No **** GSW doesnt want to lose Curry and picks.

I read somewhere that the Hornets do not want Rondo for Paul though because they think without superstars around him he won't be as effective.

Ya... I don't want to get my hopes up, but I'm a little more optimistic of our chances. Also heard some rumblings about OKC thinking about trading Westbrook + pieces for CP3, which is far better than our offer, but if GS is out, and LAC are walking that way, it's definitely good for us

Whether CP3 is traded to the Warriors or not, I could still see them wanting to trade Ellis and Biedrins to us (for JRich, JJ, and Ryno) to free up a little more cap room for Chandler. Curry-JRich-Wright-Lee-Chandler would be a damn good team since Curry is going to improve each year. Defense, Shooting, Penetration, AND post-up offense. That's a VERY complete team. And then JJ and Ryno coming off the bench for them as well.

Why not? What do other teams have to offer that would be better? Certainly not us! That Minny pick could be top 5 in one of the most stacked drafts since 03. Kaman is a large expiring aminu and bledsoe are serviceable players on rookie deals

It's still a huge risk for the Clippers. If the Clippers go ahead with that, then all the power to them. But imo, I wouldn't risk those assets. Especially knowing the team with CP3, Gordon, and Blake may not necessarily compete for a championship. It would take a season or so to get there.

And if the Clipps were to include Gordon in a deal, I think the Clipps with just Blake and CP3 are 7-8 seed at best. I wouldn't see their owner going out of his way to improve that team through spending more either. They definitely have a great deal, but I don't think it would be enough to keep CP3 for the long haul.
