Yes. We need his rebounding and defense more than his scoring, IMO. I'd rather him score 16 on 52% shooting with a 10 rebounds and a block than 18/8/.6

What?
I rather him score 18 and get 8 rebounds which was fine. His midrange shooting is needed, he can't shoot because he turned himself into the Hulk what's the point.
If the Heat actually have any decent center that could box somebody out then the weight he was at was fine, but Joel is terrible at rebounding.
And the bulking up isn't good, if he start having knee problems and his game is being severely affected like not being able to shoot and move around on the court then he just should stay skinny.
Bosh Knees> Getting 2 more extra rebounds and banging in the post.
Plus Bosh was able to move around and guard the pick and roll. That was part of Spo's defensive plan.
I hope he isn't 250 plus, more around 240 because Bosh is gonna be needed for the next 5 years, can't have him having chronic knee problems just because Heat doesn't have a center.

I think I read somewhere that the reason Bosh started to break down that season was because he didn't focus on a certain group of muscles and that he changed that this time around.

Yeah he's already addressed this and said that he went about it the right way this time and focused on strengthening muscle groups he would need to in order to support a bigger frame.
I think Wade becoming leaner and Bosh bulking a bit are both positives.

You're exaggerating a bit. The differences in his body are not going to be so pronounced that he can't shoot or will have knee problems. What I was implying is that I would take lower scoring + higher efficiency over last year, hence the 52% shooting. That comes from the ability to still hit his mid-range and score inside better. A third option scoring 16 is really, really good. I would easily, easily sacrifice two points for two rebounds and a half a block more plus the ability to slide to center more effectively if necessary. You're acting like he's gonna turn into a statue. That's not even close to what will happen.

Raptor fan here...
Bosh in his last season with Toronto played well. He averaged something like 28/13 the first two months until the game against Memphis where he tried to Block OJ Mayo then he landed awkwardly which made him think that the weight made the landing worse.
I think Bosh is 245lbs right now and by the end of the season he might slim down to 240.
Good Luck Bosh!

Yes, he was getting absolutely abused by every big in the league, pushed around like a rag doll because of his thin frame. Now maybe he can hold his own on the low post.

Dr Cracker wrote:In exchange, his effectiveness in the post sky-rocketed, scoring 600 points on post-up plays in 2009-10 according to Synergy -- up from 371 points in the previous season. Consider this: among the 48 players who recorded at least 150 post-up plays in 2009-10, Bosh reigned supreme in efficiency, scoring 1.093 points every post-up play. No one really came close. He was a statistical monster.
The one quote that stood out to me. At his peak, his offensive efficiency was right up there with Lebron, Wade, Durant, etc. I'm not exaggerating this. He was basically carrying the Raptors to a top 5 (?) offence for a while. I hope you guys realize this and give him his touches. The Heat played their best shortly after Bosh went public with his lack of touches.
