Here's the thing. I'm sick of people saying J-Rich is going to a contender, like we're not one. If we somehow got Ellis and Battier I'd be very high-hoped.

Well now thats some good news. If that is from Dwight's approved list then I am willing to believe again that he wants to stay. Its not like he is talking mega superstar here. Those are not walkovers to get but it s not like they are beyond imagination. Even Otis might be able to pull one of those off.

We are not a contender. And even if we were, I wouldn't want JRich here.

No matter how badly Paul wants to join forces with Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire, it seems clear that he realizes he can't get to New York via trade this season. As a result, his new favorite destination, I'm told, is the Lakers.

I love Battier. He is a great defender and studies the game. He always gave the top perimeter scores of the other teams fits and makes everyone around him better defensively.

If JJ and Duhon are still on the roster, do not discount Battier to Orlando. Duke guys like to stick together. Also, Shane is a smart guy. He has been successful in 2 offenses, what did each have in common? A dominant low post presence (Yao, and Randolph). He does not fit as well in Miami or Chicago as he does in Orlando is Dwight stays. And trust me, he is taking it into consideration.

In all probability Orlando will not be under the cap enough to sign a max player. So to keep Superman happy you gotta spend spend spend! Good thing Mr. Amway has a fat wallet.

I would rather them start gutting the roster and be able to sign Deron or CP3 this summer. The key to all of that would be getting rid of jameer and duhon.

Unfortunately, I don't think Dwight would approve.

Perfect world yes, gut the roster and miss the playoffs. Land a top 10 pick, grab Rivers or Lamb, sign DWill and resign Howard. But this isn't a perfect world, and no athlete likes losing. So Orlando is in a situation where they cannot afford risking having a season that does not end in a deep playoff run if they want to keep Howard. Otis has to figure out how to turn what he has into a team that can constantly compete with Chicago and Miami.......and he has to figure it out ASAP. Clock is ticking.

I will promise you this though, if Orlando starts losing early on its going to get very tense come trade deadline.

According to sources, the Hornets expressed interest in trading Chris Paul to the Warriors and they engaged in talks. There hasn't been an expectation of anything getting done from Golden State's perspective because of the understanding that Paul wouldn't sign off on an extension.

But there is a circumstance in which the Warriors would be willing to trade for Paul as a rental and that would be if Monta Ellis went to New Orleans in return.

Retaining Curry would allow the Warriors to preserve their best trade chip and he could also possibly play shooting guard beside Paul.

Trading Curry and Tyson Chandler to the Magic for Dwight Howard could be a possibility at a later date.

Did we go over this all ready? Been gone for a bit. Dwight for S. Curry and Chandler. Do you take it?
