WOW!

Not a terrible deal, but a lot of money for him. The Angels rotation is SICK now.

It seemed by all indications he was going to get six years, so I guess it's a minor victory that they got him to agree to five.

Couple of crazy deals, but it must be nice to have an owner who wants to win.

Two big signings in about an hour and they're still paying V-Dub! Angels just got serious. I wonder if Fielder to Miami is a lock now.

Why would he be? Marlins spent a lot of money on Buehrle.

I don't know -- wonder if the Cardinals will be in on him now that they've lost Pujols? With all the money Miami has spent, I still have a hard time believing they'll pony up for Prince too.

Cardinals need a SS more and are in on Rollins. They have Berkman at 1b already.

Yeah, I was mainly basing it on this (which is pure speculation):

Jon_Heyman Jon Heyman

I wonder if AA is worried at all about the competition for the WC spot. Or is he just thinking "No need for the WC spot.. We'll take the AL East."

bad for us, because the fish wanted both lefties, since they missed out on wilson they will pitch for fielder, LAA fuked us over hard by signing wilson and giving Pujols that massive contract driving up fielders price

terrible day so far :(

Or he's thinking more about 2013. It's pretty hard to tell at this point whether the Jays really believe they can compete next season.

V-Dub may play a lot better this season with the pressure no longer on him.

He must be a happy guy right now.

Some big moves there, but they're still behind the Rangers in the division. Pujols+Wilson doesn't change things too much.

That's not right. Replace Abreu or Wells (whichever useless OF that was in DH now goes as Trumbo or Kendry fills that spot) and their roughly 1 WAR with anything like 6-7 WAR or more for Pujols, then replace 1 WAR for Pineiro or Chatwood with 4-5 for Wilson and you're already at 10 games. Throw in replacing Wilson in TEX rotation with something at least 1-2 WAR lower and these two moves alone change a lot next year. Now, I think it's crazy stupid money for both (in annual for Wilson and term for Pujols), but Moreno is buying in to compete now and acting like those two additions don't close an enormous portion of the gap is just not right.
