Re-signing Andrew Bynum

Post#1 » by Slava » Thu Dec 8, 2011 5:35 pm

Tyson Chandler's 4 year $60 million deal just got me thinking.

Lets assume that Bynum stays healthy this season, we stick with the same line up and puts up close to 18/10/2. How tough is it going to be to re-sign this guy?

There was an article from Wojnarowski recently that Bynum is demanding a bigger role in the offense and he sees himself being the center piece on a team. So we need to assure him that he will get that here and may be pay him close to a max contract to retain him?

Also doesn't help that his agent has a strained relationship with the Lakers and will by all means look to turn his head elsewhere as soon as the opportunity pops up.

15 million a year for Tyson Chandler is HORRIBLE. I understand that the market dictates the value but for a team like the GSW it is such a handicapping move. I understand they will use it to lure CP3 in it is such a horrible move. 1) he is old 2) he is injury prone 3) that is a lot of money for a young and growing team.... I am not shocked he got that much from the Warriors, but his impact will not be felt on that team like it was on the Mavs

Thats why Im all for D12. Let Bynum go and lead the Magic as the center piece.

I think we have waited long enough to see him do that. Time to ship his arse out.

You just can't give a max contract to a guy who plays 55 games a year ... we have to trade Bynum this year!

Chandler is worth $8mil a year, tops ... the Warriors are idiots!

OP basis is FULLY Healthy and avg. those #'s....sure maybe its more attractive for Howard but if Orl still says no to Bynum offer then you got no choice but to give him max to near max.

If Orlando says no & he stays healthy he's worth the max. Think about it. The only hang up we all have about Drew is health. That's it. Other than that he's the complete package & 2nd best Center in the league.

how many guys with repetitive knee injuries do you know are able to string together several healthy and productive seasons post injury?
Warspite:

Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.
