Again...it's a business. The players know this. If getting Chandler ends up with us trading Amar'e + x for Paul (+hopefully a re-signed West) I'm 100% game.

How do we even trade for Chris Paul though? We don't have the contracts to match without Billups?

Unless Paul comes for the MLE, I really don't see how we get him...without trading Melo or Amare. If we get Chandler...

It's absolutely possible. If we can't get Nash in trade, we could offer him the full MLE next offseason.

Could this be a really big move to eventually get Paul?

1. We amnesty Chauncey
2. We sign Chandler for 13-14 mil/yr
2. We sign some cheap role players to fill the roster
4. We wouldn´t be able to sign Paul via FA but NY will be the only place he´d play for now with another of his buddies on the team (Chandler), BUT he now forces NO to trade him for everyone besides Amare, Melo, Chandler, maybe in a 3- or 4-way, if not, he´ll leave for nothing for another team

We ´d be way over the cap but Dolan wouldn´t care!

Melo
Redd?
Paul

After those moves almost every Vet would looove to play for the Knicks for cheap and get a ring.

Is there a mistake in that "plan"?

Think about this logically. We've been long linked to CP3 and have stuck to our plan of cap flexibility for that 3rd star. GS reportedly just offered Chandler a deal...and NOW we're in the lead? Sounds like another case of using us to get more money out of the W's or Cuban himself.

I just can't see us giving up on CP3 until the ship officially sails.
