The fat and lazy Baron Davis last year on Cleveland averaged (per 36):

19.7 PPG/8.7 APG/3.4 RPG/1.5 SPG/0.6 BPG/42 FG%/41 3P%

The renegotiation only frees up 3 million off Amare's contract. Your not going to make any space for Paul with only 3 mill.

We open space for other players though.

Everyone loved the original Allan Houston signing which was great.

Everyone hated the contract extension that Allan Houston got.

Hate on me I don't care... didn't like the initial signing at all, hated the extension totally.

Baron Davis will show up and play his ass off in the playoffs. I'll take that even if it means having to play himself into shape.

knock off 40% of Melo's contract and Amar'e contract (by extending him in years) --> frees up 8 million. go check the other thread specifically on the loophole.

Billups, if amnestied, only gets to MIA if every team under the cap passes on making a bid. Not seeing that.

Let's hope someone other than the Heat get him.

Already posted in the other thread, but why would Melo or Amar'e agree to this at all? They're cutting into potential future earnings if/when they re-up their current contracts. Unless you're assuming that they'll be retiring in 4 years, it makes no sense for them to do it.

I threw out Delonte West earlier. Probably too much of a risk there.
