Nene is better than Chandler. If we can't get Gasol, we need to go after DeAndre Jordan or Nene.

Would not give Marc 14/15 Mil but this is the NBA. (Which it looks like it is still the same thing all over again. Which pisses me off since the lockout was suppose to fix all this BS. But it seems like that was not the case if those are the going rates for Marc/Chandler and Superstars are still teaming up on where they want to go.) Back to Marc not a superstar or a second tier player. Agree would not give Chandler that either. Only worth something close to a MLE because all he can do is defend plus his age.

Like Nene and is closer to a staring center then anyone on the team. Is Jordan restricted? If not then he should be the first one the Rockets talk to. Young and raw. Don't think he will cost a whole lot.

I think Tyson Chandler will get 12+ million a year in free agency. Eventhough he is young, there is alot of mileage on his body. I think we should stay away.

You can't blame Morey for seriously considering him. Houston is desperate for a center. No one really wants to come to houston and all solid prospects will more than likely disappear early in the draft. With the addition of Chandler even though we don't have a superstar, we are slowly but surely building a very solid roster.

Instead of losing to get a high draft pick to win, we are winning and staying competitive to possibly attract a superstar/raise our players value to get better.

I think Chandler + Scola/Martin + another "Asset" makes a very nice trade package as well... but we'd have to either jerk Chandler around or have him sign with us knowingly on that. I don't see the latter happening. Dunno how long things like that last on your reputation as a GM, either.

Wonder what Morey's rep with players/agents really is....
Landry and Battier both hated to leave, and I think I heard a few other rumbles, but do they really dislike the guy for it, or do we just hear that?

How do people justify paying 15 million dollars to a basketball player who can't even create his own shot?

shot block and defense
stopping opponent from scoring is pretty much same as you scoring 2 pts

The rebounding and defensive edges that Chandler provides are pretty significant in swinging games.

The Knicks have to feel like the smart funny girl in high school who just happens to have a massive overbite. They're going to land Tyson Chandler, crow about their "massive" front line, then look up at playoff time and wonder why they're a 6 seed.

Re: MaxRider and Moofs:

I am aware of the plus and minus game. However, 15 million gets you Gasol. It is bizarre that this free agent class, because of the scarcity of large bodies, puts Tyson Chandler in the same paycheck ball park as Pau Gasol.

IMHO, that is crazy.

Re: Ribalding

Doesn't the Knicks have Chaucey Billups at the 1 and Toney Douglas to back him up? Billups might have regressed, but he shouldn't be anywhere near the nadir point that is Matt Maloney.

That's the problem. The only way they can get Pau is if they amnesty Chauncey.

Uh oh. No point guard.

And the new CBA rules restrict them (since they'll be over the cap) from snatching Baron Davis off the scrap heap after he gets amnestied. (Is that even a verb?)

Somebody call Matt Maloney in the Heights. Tell him to put down that bong and lace 'em up.

Re: Ribalding

You mean Chandler? Can they still go over the cap if they could afford it?

This makes sense now:

http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_ ... ources-say

Tyson Chandler to New York, trade Amare from New York to New Orleans for Paul.

Amare to New Orleans... You can't trade Amare again, so David West is leaving. So I guess the three way between LA/Houston/New Orleans isn't going to happen, or that they are going to amnesty Scola.

Return to Houston Rockets
