It's almost comical to hear Stern talking about competitive balance as Lakers get CP3 and Chandler heads here

Sounds about right on both counts.

On a side note, if we're no longer trying to save cap space for next year, I assume we'll bring Jordan over, especially with Turiaf gone.

i'll miss turiaf more then billups actually.

Agreed. I think it's extremely arguable to say the Lakers got better today. Not a slam dunk by any means, no pun intended.

Have strong indications that Baron Davis would come to NYK at a discount if he clears the amnesty waivers. But are #Knicks interested?

We could still really use Kurt Thomas.

1. B. Davis
2. Fields
3. Melo
4. Amar'e
5. Chandler

On paper, sure looks like a legit Eastern Conference contender.

Great signing. Obviously Chris Paul gave in to the Lakers and why shouldnt he? This helps our team tremendously. It allows us to not only gamble on D, but also gives us a big man who is 7'1" and can run. I love this move.

Also, think about this. Tyson Chandler can be a very good piece to move with Shumpert and Fields for Dwight if he is in play.

Love the video, but not sure I can see the downside. It's pretty apparent then when B Diddy is healthy and motivated, he can still play. After being in LA and Cleveland, I can't imagine he comes here and stinks it up. Plus D'Antoni has a way of inflating PG's stats. I'd be down. We don't need the BD of old, just a competent PG.

I don't know if Tyson Chandler is as good without a dynamic point guard. If we don't get Baron Davis or Jamaal Tinsley or another point guard who can distribute the ball nicely then I'm not certain how much chemistry we will have. I'm cautiously optimistic about this turn of events.

Michael Kay:
Paul let it be known last night he wasn't going to take the lesser deal the Knicks would have been able to offer after the season.

Said he was going to begin his show with this scoop until all this stuff went down. Says it was a reaction to this move that led them to go after Chandler.

Do we still have the MLE to sign Hill if we use the amnesty clause to get rid of Billups ?

Get it done.

Baron Davis
Grant Hill/Landry Fields
Carmelo Anthony
Amare Stoudemire
Tyson Chandler

Thats a very good team right there.
