I think credit is due to Knicks for foreseeing what we now know with Paul, and getting the next best option.... No time to wait for speculatoin over Howard or Deron.

On paper, sure looks like a legit Eastern Conference contender.

That backcourt leaves a lot to be desired

But not without it's positives.

Have strong indications that Baron Davis would come to NYK at a discount if he clears the amnesty waivers. But are #Knicks interested?

We need a PG that will stay healthy for our playoff push.

not a fan but we won't do better this year.

Is Chauncey Billlups now a bum? I think I'd rather have Chauncey that Baron.

Take the min for 1 year, Baron, you're getting more than you're worth from Cleveland anyways.

How does the amnesty waivers thing work? Do teams need to pick up the current contract or can they just claim the player and then sign him to whatever?

Also, think about this. Tyson Chandler can be a very good piece to move with Shumpert and Fields for Dwight if he is in play.

Michael Kay:
Paul let it be known last night he wasn't going to take the lesser deal the Knicks would have been able to offer after the season.

Said he was going to begin his show with this scoop until all this stuff went down. Says it was a reaction to this move that led them to go after Chandler.

he pulled a lebron and told the knicks through his agent, whom he also shares with lebron(leon rose) that he's going to the lakers.

it followed the blueprint of the carmelo situation and ended like the lebron situation.

I wouldn't be against gambling on Baron at this point. We have some good spot-up shooters and finishers. But what good are they if we don't have a playmaker? They may as well be tomato cans.

Hey just throwing it out there. It would just give us a great and attractive piece to move if it comes to that.

It's almost comical to hear Stern talking about competitive balance as Lakers get CP3 and Chandler heads here

Well the Lakers have been an completive team for years and the Knicks have been awful. Now the Knicks seem to be competitve so Stern has achieved his goal. Stern is a genius!

Yea, but we still need a legit playmaker. Iso offense will kill us in the playoffs. I'm also hoping Shump supplants Landry. We need a quicker player at the 2.

Because Knicks fans can never enjoy what we have; we are always looking for the next trade/move.

this is what i don't want though. i don't want baron going all crawful on us. focus on being a distributor and limit yourself to like 10 shots a game. then it might work.

Since nobody here is reading any other news: Grant Hill said Knicks are not in consideration.
