No matter what you think his role will be, he'll have to at least pose a threat on the offensive side of the ball for there to be proper balance. For Tyson that means at least a decent PG. Especially in a MikeD offense. Without one, expect the paint to be clogged us having a less efficient jump shooting offense.

Which teams are under the cap? Maybe we can narrow this down and see if it's even realistic.

This is the only thing I could find, 10 teams are over 60 mil (Knicks 60. 6) and everyone else under 56 mil:

Yeah, I think this is before a lot of teams resign their restricted free agents, etc. Looking down the list I don't see any team that would want Baron Davis. Maybe the Pistons. Almost all of these teams have their starting PG set for the future or they are in rebuilding mode and have no use for a disgruntled vet.

Oddly enough, I dont like Baron as our PG...but I wouldnt mind his style here

Its funky, its different, its unique, he'd be like a modern day Clyde, on a smaller scale

Earl Watson is a backup

There are like 5 PG's in the league who can run the PnR and shoot, and we need one.

TKF is right on this one: When in the history of the NBA has a team had the assets to trade for not one, but two superstars in one season? We were a longshot for CP3 with all our assets gone and only $13M in cap space. The same can now be said about the Lakers and Dwight.

Lakers don't have any cap space, have only Bynum as an asset (overrated and not going to get them Dwight), and thankfully, Orlando isn't owned by the NBA or run by a former Laker. They aren't gifting Dwight to LA, and he can't sign there as a FA.

I'd bet money that Dwight won't be a Laker. There's only one way I can conceivably see it happen...and that's if the Lakers amnesty Kobe, clearing his $25M salary, and then signing Dwight.

I will be in orlando later this month and I will tell dwight to stay there.. LOL... seriously, I would like dwight to stay in orlando, I think he is in a good city, great new arena and some talent on that team...

now you're just being disingenuous

They get Kevin Martin and Luis Scola for Gasol. That's two good players for one. They probably just tried to determine how to field the best team they could after the trade.

Only thing I'm expecting is complaining, which is apparently a reality

Turiaf for Ridnour makes sense. And again it doesnt have to be Ridnour, just someone similar.

Who else? Because Turiaf is gone, and it wasn't for Ridnour.

Yeah checking the F/A list, theres not much there.

Hey I'm a knicks fan til death and I'm a grown man... I don't hold any attachments to anything. If Chanlder is going to be wearing the orange and blue I'll accept him with open arms... come to the apple big fella and help us win a chip. Now onto the PG position... Davis for 1 year next year nash for the MLE. Or we draft Stocktons boy... and pray.

I think New Orleans actually did pretty well. With Kevin Martin, Scola, and Odom, they be able to field a solid team, which is obviously what they wanted since they took a big talent package instead of trying to get prospects.

Davis/Douglas
Fields/Shumpert
Melo/Walker
Amare/Harrellson
Chandler/Jeffries

Still a few pieces to add.
