Kobe has a no-trade clause. Totally forgot.

IIRC Kobe is the only guy in the league with a no-trade clause.

Anthony Carter had one, his deal expired now though.

LOL, didn't Devean George have one too

What I've heard about Chandler is it's going to happen. Knicks have other moves to make, though.

Im almost positive you cannot use the clause on a traded player.

I like the move a lot. I've been on the Cp3 bandwagon for a while now, but getting Chandler was a great plan B in my opinion. The Knicks needed a center who could play defense and grab rebounds and Chandler does that. He is arguably the top FA out there and the Knicks look like they're getting him. They do need help at PG, but before today the Knicks 2 main issues going forward were what would they do at center and who's their future PG. Assuming Chandler comes, 1 of those 2 issues are solved. We'll see what they do at PG, but the Knicks have now potentially the best frontcourt in the NBA.

Billups made it seem like he cut out a piece of his liver or one of his kidneys to come play a couple years with NY. He would never consider coming back here.

Supposedly going to Denver for a trade exception which the Knicks would have to renounce to get under the cap enough top sign Tyson.

Appleshampoo wrote:Ask yourself people, why would the Mavs waste their amnesty on Billups when they could just force us to use our own?

They cannot amnesty Billups. Amnesty can only be used on contracts existing at the time of the new CBA by the team that had the players rights at the time of the new CBA.

Correct.

Amnesty:

1.) ONE time each team (for the life of the new CBA).

2.) Player has to have been on your 15 man roster by the start of the lockout.

Therefore, you cannot trade for, sign, or draft a player post-lockout and use the amnesty on him.

I just spoke to an Eastern Conference player about Paul to L.A. and Chandler to N.Y. He jokingly said, "It's over. I'm quitting basketball."

I'd imagine Turiaf + 3M to Denver with an exchange of 2nd round picks.

1. Dallas has said they have no interest in Billups.
2. A player has to have been on the roster as of June 30 to be amnesty-eligible.
3. Billups hates us now.

The unmotivated comments really just reminds me of last year when fans thought Melo would play lazy after he got paid. Instead of looked like more of a leader than a certain Number 6 in Miami.

I wholeheartedly agree in 6 months, we will love this signing. I was right with the Amare signing, Melo signing and I think I'll be right this time too.

If we need a little more wiggle room, use that new loophole to get 3 million extra in cap room.

Really don't want to amnesty Billups, I would think the Mavs would take him for one year.. but if not, what about the Pacers? I'd even think a protected first could come back our way from the Pacers..

Not having Amare bang down low for rebounds may save on his body and knees, maybe there's a side benefit with Chandler after all.

That's what I get for listening to fatass. Francesa said Kobe was the only guy, said this about 20 times in the past year. My bad, I don't even listen to him anymore because of $ht like this where he's wrong about something yet repeats it over and over w/o checking the facts.
