Hey fellas... I'm mostly a Suns fan but I live in Utah so I follow them as well. I need a reminder on what the stipulations are with the Golden State pick that came to Utah as part of the Deron Williams trade. Thanks!

The Suns are my second team so you're more than welcome her on the Jazz board.
I believe for the upcoming draft (2012) that it's top 7 protected but don't quote me on that...

Re: The Official Free agency thread
So Adam Morrison left his European team where he was playing very well looking to come ack to the NBA, if we don't resign AK, I think Ammo might be a cheap gamble to take on a player who I always thought needed a more structured system to pan out.
What do you think about Ammo as the third guy off the bench?

I actually wouldn't mind giving Morrison a go if we can sign him for super cheap. I like him better than Roger Mason, that's for sure.

Meh, is he good enough to not stoop to the level of just a preseason games/training camp tryout? Because that's what I would do before gambling on signing him.

Re: The Official Free agency thread
Anyone else wish we kept Sundiata Gaines after the preseason? Showed that he belonged in the league and was a REALLY efficient player when he was on the court with the Nets until the hip injury. Wish we would have kept him.
I was listening to Boler, Locke, and Garrard on 1320 KFAN earlier. Scott Garrard mentioned the idea of trading Memo for Farmar and Morrow. The Nets shed 8 million dollars in cap space, but Jazz get contracts that are still pretty decent contracts if they wanted to trade one of them or amnesty them (if it's allowed with trades). I really like Morrow's 3 point shooting that we need (Hayward would be moved to SF), and Farmar is a solid back-up. Watson would be out of the picture most likely though.

Damn, when did he talk about that? I was sending him and Locke tweets for about an hour trying to get their thoughts on a possible Farmar and Morrow deal with NJ. I think we have a lot of pieces they'd be interested in outside of Memo too.... it makes a lot of sense for both teams. I would love to land Morrow and/or Farmar. They both fit a need with this team in a bad way. Only problem is that I bet they want to keep Morrow alongside of Deron and I think D-Will loves having him out there to dish to. Maybe Marshon Brooks will come in and take over Morrows' spot so it makes him expendable.
Starting to look like the Lakers won't be bringing back Shannon Brown. I would love to sign him in FA if possible.

Re: The Official Free agency thread
Reports coming out that the Jazz have expressed interest in both Earl Watson and AK and held discussions with their agents.
Glad to hear it.

Re: The Official Free agency thread
AK isn't going to come back w/out a hometown discount which isn't happening. I think we'll get Earl for a decent price but Ronnie P is probably out of the picture.
What about Paul Carter? He got invited to training camps by the FO apparently...Undrafted

Earl Watson is signing with the hawks, looks like we need to fix that problem now. Sign or trade?

Noooooo!
Edit: According to @lockedonsports, @Earl_Watson said he hasn't committed to any team yet.

Re: The Official Free agency thread
Trey Gilder (SF) has also been invited to Jazz training camp.
He's a lanky SF who played in the D-league. Don't know much else about him.
And for the Watson thing... it's just a rumor. So in other words, his agent is posturing for more money from the Jazz. I don't expect him to sign with the Hawks. He will be a Jazz man.

Locke said he talked to Watson and that he said that he has not received an offer from the jazz and will wait to see what they do before he decides. He said he has not committed to any teams despite some of them pushing hard.

Re: The Official Free agency thread
So KOC said that he wants an "athletic shooter".
So who makes the list of possible and realistic "athletic shooters" we could acquire via trade of FA?
I got... Marcus Thornton, Eric Gordon (if we get in on a CP3 deal to Clippers), Kevin Martin (is he considered athletic?), Danny Granger, Iggy (Is he considered a shooter?), WESLEY MATTHEWS.... and that's everyone that I can think of off the top of my head.

We're NOT going after Nene, we're in the hunt for Howard.
