It sounds like former Notre Dame starter and ballyhooed recruit Dayne Crist is a probability to be a poor man's version of the Russell Wilson acquisition for Wisconsin this offseason.

Even though Crist got benched by Notre Dame he did sport a slightly better QB rating than Wilson in 2010, and was supposedly good at play action, but just didn't have the running game or offensive line to take advantage of that. As good as Wilson has been, the Badgers were certainly more efficient in play action when Tolzien was QB. If Crist can be even at the level Tolzien was in 2009, and Ball were to return, the Badgers would have a good shot at 3-peating as Big Ten Champs (presuming they win this weekend). All the losses would be addition by subtraction, or at least easily replaceable, outside of Fenelus and Welch. Henry was a sieve, Claxton had low awareness, and Nortman was a big culprit in both losses with his slow release allowing punts to get blocked. Even Toon was really unreliable and not much of a deep threat. If healthy, Marquis Mason could be a better compliment to Abbrederis.

God I hope Ted drafts him. Character wise you won't find anyone better. The only serious flaw in his game is height. If he was 3 inches taller I think he'd go top half of the first round.

figured crist would check out kansas with weis there. he was the guy who recruited him
