Why dont we??

Post#1 » by TonyMontana » Fri Dec 9, 2011 6:06 pm

Too much ish going on with the way our franchise is being delt with this CP3 and the trade block that the N.O owners have done.

So my take is this.

Why dont we go after Houston?? The Lakers prefer to hold on to Bynum as the possible centerpiece of trade talks with Orlando for D12. The N.O dont want Gasol who has three years and $57 million left on his deal. But the Rockets do.

A combo of Pau Gasol To Houston, Luis Scola And Kevin Martin is a very good trade and the salaries work. So why not. We move Pau for Scola who I think would fit perfectly in our lineup. He is a solid double-double guy who’s tough, gutsy, got balls and a he is quality leader in the frontcourt, but in reality his rebounding does suck, but he makes it up on offense and hustle. I like Martin even when he was in Sac town and he is a good guard. Not a CP3 but still a good guard.

They want Pau and they are willing to do this trade.

So we walk on CP3 and we pickup two solid players and focus on getting D12 with Bynum and L.O and filler.

I like this a lot better than giving up Pau and L.O for CP3 and it give us a shot at getting D12.

Thoughts???

This might happen in the locker room:

But thats what we need. Some balls and guys that will put out the hit when needed and Scola is a scrubber along with Barnes. The new bad boys of LA.

No way, the only way Pau goes if it nets us D-12 or CP3. Why trade Pau for role players, wouldn't make sense.

I agree. Gasol for Scola and Martin? His value far exceeds both of what those 2 players will bring.

Actually I agree with Tony,I would do it

Pau is mentally weak,he'll never forget us for the trade attempt,I see a decline and maybe even "Playoffs Pau" which is unacceptable for his 20 mil/year salary
If the Rockets would agree to send us the package they would have sent to NO(I think they would)
let's do this

Scola(similar player to Gasol ,same age, better contract, smaller and worse rebounder but tough and gritty defender with a similar post game to Pau's..better midrange game too)
Martin(would be perfect off the bench a la Terry, can play some SF too)
Dragic(good young talent, becomes our instant best PG and relegates Fisher to the role B.Shaw used to fill during the 3 peat, perfect for his age..15-20 min a game bench player, who finishes the game because he's good in the clutch)
and NY 2012 first round pick(hell, they might throw in their own pick,in a solid draft, two 15-20 picks are pretty good assets)

The great part is that we get to keep our assets for Dwight..a deal involving Bynum,Odom,Barnes, the 2 first round picks in 2012 from Houston and 2 future picks of our own would ABSOLUTELY get the deal done(we have to pick up Turk though)
Then we amnesty Blake,he's useless in this scenario

We could have a team consisting of:

PG Dragic/Fisher
SG Kobe/Martin
SF Turkoglu/Artest(with Kobe and Martin playing spot minutes)
PF Scola/Turkoglu
C Howard(and another big via the mini MLE or trade exception from Sasha trade)

That would be the rotation, with Walton,Ebanks,Goudelock and Morris getting garbage minutes and rounding the roster(maybe some veterans in their place)

We might sign the other K-Mart too, once he returns from China...that would be perfect

This!! I m not saying this cause you agreed with me, but this is exactly what I ment except I didnt have the time to sit down and write everything in detail as you did. I agree except the part about KMart. I think he is basically done but still wouldnt be a bad idea to get him coming off the bench to back up D12.

The thing is I can't see Odom/Gasol playing their best every single night from now on. I think they're just gonna be there and play but not put any effort into it.

Stern as royally messed up our team chemistry. I hope karma bites Stern right in the @ss for this.

I've never hated a man this much in my entire life. The guy just doesn't want us to get better.

Another thing I don't get why are they packing all the superstars in the EAST? Who the hell is going to play in the WEST?

Why not just trade for Dwight and keep Gasol? Amnesty Luke who's far more useless than Blake.

PG Fisher/Blake
SG Kobe/Barnes
SF Artest/Turk
PF Gasol/Artest
C Dwight/Gasol

This trade is a great idea. KMART is a great scorer.. could start next to kobe (at the 3) or KMART could be a crawford type big time 6th man. dragic? even better.. scola has got mad game. of course pau is way better than scola, but he is not better than both. thats for sure
