Can we convince Dwight to force a trade to LA?

Post#1 » by RiotSweetie » Fri Dec 9, 2011 9:14 pm

I think we can. I'm gonna be making a series of videos until the end of FA via twitter to get Dwight Howard to watch them. This is part one of what I think is gonna be four or five. I'm gonna need all the support I can get on twitter or on blogs--doesn't matter--to make sure Dwight sees the videos.

P.S. It was 6:30am when I did this video, but the one I'm making tonight is gonna happen Chris Crocker style. I'm gonna be rapping to Dwight in my Superman/Laker gear, so if you have an suggestion to a beat that I can use (a really catchy one), then send it my way.

Also, if you have anything I can say to Dwight to convince him to push a trade for LA, let me know and I'll incorporate it somehow.

Laker fans, unite!

If you really wanna convince Dwight to come, give him the addresses to the slew of porn stars at his fingertips once in LA.

No. Since we're also trading away Odom, we have nothing else to offer them to pick up Turkey Glue who is their last remaining bad contract.

We're putting all of our marbles into CP3/Bynum, which isn't bad as long as they stay healthy.

I don't know why anyone would want Okafor/Bynum unless they have other pieces in place. They play the same position. It seems like a real waste to pay Okafor the amount of money he's getting for reserve minutes.

Is it possible to do a 3-way deal where we send some of our TPE's to another team so that the Magic get additional pieces, or are we disallowed from using the TPE while we send out players altogether?

If we had the cap space like with the previous Paul deal we could sign Dwight outright, meaning leverage would be in our corner and Otis would have no choice. But if we get Okafor we won't have the cap space thus no leverage.

That's not to say we still couldn't get Dwight here. Okafor/Bynum just might get it done, but I don't see Orlando taking back that combined salary.

You can't combine player and TPEs together in a package. Something like you suggested would have to be done through separate deals.

Welp, no Howard then.

At best.

At worst, we watch our season go down the tubes if Bynum gets injured. Kobe and CP3 aren't going to be able to carry this team.

From the way it looks now, yes. But I trust the FO will find a way not to give up too much in this deal so that there's at least a possibility for Howard. Let's hope these West rumors are true, if we get Okafor it's sunk.

True, but at this point it's one that has to be made. Pau & Odom can't be on this team.

Honestly there's no way this would ever happen. If the owners can make a big enough stink about the Chris Paul situation, imagine the fuss they would make if Howard appeared actually on his way to LA. They would go berserk and bully Stern into doing something drastic to stop it.

If we had the cap space like with the previous Paul deal we could sign Dwight outright, meaning leverage would be in our corner and Otis would have no choice.

This is the point, when it comes to Dwight you have no leverage, and no assets suited to the Magic. If you had the best offer or cap space, you'd be looking good. But you have neither, so it's a pipe dream.

Much like Paul was a pipe dream a few days go, huh? At least look at the previous deal that was agreed upon before speaking.

I am on the record saying Paul coming was more likely, but that the assets didn't fit, so it was still highly unlikely. Both of them was a total pipe dream, and Dwight by himself a crack high.

I was told there was no way the Lakers would give up Gasol and Bynum for Dwight (who is a superior player to Paul), yet you just gave up Gasol and Odom for Chris Paul. Lakers fans have making low ball offers for weeks now, saying they'd get Paul for nothing, when in fact they give up their 2nd and 3rd best player just to get Paul.

You've been on the GB talking trash about how no one wants the Lakers old and injured garbage and you can't see a deal getting done for either. You've accumulated 220 posts in 7 days, and I bet at least 180 of them were spent on the GB in some Laker thread popping off. And who said we'd get Paul for nothing? Compared to what it could be, it's highly favorable for us that Pau instead of Bynum is being dealt.

You've been wrong so far, I hope we continue to show you up.
