As Hornets restart trade talks, directive from NBA is to get better, younger package, to ensure long-term success, I'm told.

Maybe this is where we come in and offer Johnson or Beasley for Martin??

Just throwing crap at the wind here, but Williams + Wes + Webster + Pekovic package for Odom + Martin + NY#1?

That team would be right up there in the West, I would think.

Darko/Randolph
Love/Odom
Beasley/Odom
Martin/Lee
Rubio/Ridnour

OR

Wes + Beasley + Webster + Pekovic for Pau Gasol?

If the Lakers were to get CP3, what would have stopped Dwight Howard from joining the Lakers too?. If they were willing to blow up their roster by trading Gasol and Odom already what would have stopped them from trading Bynum or anyone else to get Dwight too? The last thing I would have wanted to see was the Lakers vs the Heat in the Finals every year and I'm sure a lot of the owners felt the same way hence Gilbert's letter.

On the other hand though, I just felt like the whole situation was terrible for the NBA. Not only is it damaging to the league's reputation but the teams actually agreed to terms of the trade themselves. While I don't agree with what the Hornets got back as good value but I don't think its right the NBA can just cancel a trade like this. Now Chris Paul pretty much can't be traded anywhere else and is stuck on the Hornets. What does that mean for the Hornet's future? Are they going to be able to get anything in return or can he just walk for free? What if something was to happen to Chris Paul like an injury or something, than he is pretty much screwed.

I'm just really interested to see where it goes from here, I think the mess will only get worse.

You would prefer that the heat win the finals every year rather than play the Lakers every year?

Yes of course i prefer the Heat win the finals every year :)

Honestly i have no idea how the Hornets GM still has a job after this crazy trade that makes no sense

I had a similar thought in offering rebuilding assets for Martin, but I'm not too hot on Odom or Gasol.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

i personally definitely wouldn't wat pau at that price with the trade kicker...adding martin makes us a train wreck on the perimeter d...i'd rather keep wes as i think he'll be a terrific defender in time.

i was thinking about a similar package centered around wes and williams + memphis and utah picks for paul george and roy hibbert...still stay young, but get a guy who is probably a bit more suited to play the 2 than wes in george who is also younger than wes. also upgrade our center spot with hibbert who would fit really great with adelman as he is a really nice passer and high post player and fit next to love, as he's not a good rebounder but great rim protecter who plays with rare passion and fire for a 7 footer...both still developing but we'd be set going forward at all 5 positions with an uncluttered and nice bench.

I think a Gasol-Love front court would be sensational in an Adelman coached offense.

This is definitely not the way I want to go.
