I really like this signing. A one year deal, he has an extraordinary dunking ability to keep the crowd entertained, and I think he'll come in to Phoenix having something to prove. He plays hard, and like someone mentioned, was stuck playing behind Kobe. He can actually create his own shot pretty well, I think his outside jumper is pretty streaky though. Nonetheless, I think he'll bring some much needed youth and athleticism we needed at the shooting guard spot.

I really like Shannon Brown. Tough defense, good shooter and crazy leaping skills! A cheaper Jason Richardson IMO.

I'm a fan of this signing. It's not great but love this dudes hard work ethic and athleticism.

That block on Lowry was UNREAL...he had to duck the rim

This guy has a chance to be our new Barbosa/energy scorer off the bench. Nice signing, and cheap

I think he's 12-14pts a game hopefully

I think thats Dudley's role. I see Brown as our starting SG.

that how i see it too.. i don't think he would have signed here knowing he would be coming off the bench. Jared's game is more valuable coming off the bench.

i'm predicting Shannon Brown will have a break out season

It's really hard to see Shannon getting the starting nod over Dudley. JD is clearly a better player. Checkout the statistics over the past two seasons. Remember JD plays most of the fourth quarter (crunch minutes against starters) because of his defense and three point shooting. Brown, who was behind Kobe, was generally playing against other bench players.

I threw in another highly regarded player for comparison too. Checkout the advanced statistics between them. Again its no comparison!!

Even then, I am very exciting about Brown and think he can be a strong bench player. We could have the bench strength from two seasons ago.

Brown can create his own offense which why I see him as the starting 2 guard. He needs to improve his shooting though.

We need JD's hustle off the bench.

I'm sure Duds wants to start but he's just so great off the bench, and our bench needs him.

I remember Shannon Brown almost EMBARRASSING J Rich in the 2010 playoffs. I'm sure glad he missed that dunk.

I love this move. At least our FO did something right. For just 3.5 I think we got a great deal and he will be a perfect fit with Nash. I'm sure we will see some exciting plays from those 2 this year and that will boost ticket sales a bit. Very happy to see Brown in a Suns uniform, much better fit than a Lakers uniform. He was the only Laker that isnt an **** so he is better off as a Sun.

And that TNT video is insane. I knew he could jump but wow.

Only problem is he is a kind of terrible shooter. But he isn't the type of player who chucks threes even though he cant. He doesnt play by his weaknesses

Great move by the FO. I can already see the unstoppable Nash to Brown ally oops coming.

Lively athleticism added to the backcourt. Not really going to pin down a scoring assault or a defense, but he's a good bench guy and at $3.5M/1yr, that's good value.
