What if we are reading this all wrong? Perception has a lot to do with this. Yes Dwight seems fed up, yes it really seems like he wants to leave, but what if he is using that as a threat to force the team to improve around him instead of Otis saying "I like this team". Have you ever seen it this frantic? If he had signed an extension than this drive to improve wouldn't happen.

Yes he seems miserable, but you would too if you had reporters and fans constantly asking you what you are doing, what your next move is, what you want, where you want to be, over and over and over again when you've asked them to stop. Is it possible he is just not saying 'Yes I am staying' because he wants the team around him better so he doesn't have to leave?

Maybe it's even his agent telling him this. Maybe Fegan is saying 'If you don't sign an extension, if you don't indicate you want to stay, they will have to make improvements, then you can feel good about staying there'. Maybe that's why he seems so down about it because deep down it's not his idea.

I dunno I may just be grasping at little straws of hope.
