Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part III)
I really hope Dwight stays, but if he had to go then I hope we get a good trade out of it. I think the only really good trade we can get out of it is if we trade with LA. Sucks to say it, but I believe we get more out of it if we do that. If that is the case, then I think we can get more if we include more teams. I think that we can use Houston and Philly as the 3rd and 4th teams. I think that this option is something that all teams will accept, but who knows because I am not a GM. Of course it works on the trade checker, but so do a lot of things.
http://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/5942936
I hope I did that link right, but basically it says:
Orlando trades:
D12, JJ, Hedo, Jameer, Q, and Duhon
Orlando Receives:
Bynum, Odom, Blake, C. Lee, Dragic, Thabeet, Peterson, and Iggy
LA trades:
Bynum, Gasol, Odom, Blake
LA receives:
D12, Jameer, Duhon, Hedo, Scola
Houston trades:
Kmart, Scola, C. Lee, Patterson, Dragic, Thabeet
Houston receives:
Gasol, JJ, Q
Philly trades:
Iggy
Philly receives:
Kmart
This post is long enough without going into the reasons that each team would do this, but I can see each team benefiting in some way. Financially, drafts picks included, and young talent. Orlando still makes out pretty well.

For all those hoping Nets get Nene, the only reason they are going for Nene is to get him in a 3 way for Dwight. Nene would be coming to Orlando, lol.

Is there a lack of communication in the front office?
Does Otis wants to trade Dwight?
Do the Devos family want to keep Dwight this season?
There is always miscommunication between Otis and our front office. Have you heard mumbles talk? He probably told them he was trading Dwight and it came out to them as we're going to make a trade to keep Dwight.
But apparently Otis gave them permission to talk to Dan Fegan. There are still no face to face meetings allowed. And Fegan has said the Nets have called both him and Dwight. That's admitting they tampered. If it's proven a face to face meeting with Dwight happened...no wonder the Nets are going hard after Nene. With Dwight unable to go to NJ, Deron will not resign. Me thinks a Jameer for Deron sign and trade is in the works.

Based on what I know, what I've been told in last 24hrs and what's been written I expect Dwight Howard's time in a Magic uniform to end soon

WT: Tampering Charge Could Cost Nets Deron
So, does this change anything for us? As in, shouldn't we do everything we can to have capspace next summer??

If Mikhail Prokhorov broke the rules and met with Dwight Howard, then it’s not just that Howard will never be a Net, even if that idea was something of a stretch to begin with.
If Prokhorov met with Orlando’s superstar big man in Miami the other night and the NBA has a watertight case of tampering against the Nets owner, then he probably just killed any chance of re-signing Deron Williams.
Williams is saying all the right things about staying long-term with the Nets. But if the team is penalized because its owner and GM brazenly flouted the rules by meeting with a player who currently is property of another team, then the Nets are looking at losing several No. 1 draft picks, at the very least.

Worse then they booed Shaq on his first return to Orlando.

"Soon" could mean a lot of things. Howard could easily be part of the Magic in time for Christmas opening day.
So calm the **** down.

I like how early yesterday we were saying that Orlando was making picks to keep Dwight happy (Davis, possibility of Monta) and the morale of this board was up, and then we find out the news about talking to other teams and the entire board gets suicidal.

Just want to remind everyone before they start the "This is a S&T for Dwight" talks in regard to Nene. Nene cannot be S&T to the magic by the nets. His bird rights are owned by the Nuggets. Another team cannot sign a guy and immediately trade him. This signing would also take away NJ's cap room to land Dwight next summer.

There is such a thing as 3 way trades aka Denver trades Nene to Orlando, Prick to Nets and Lopez to Denver.

So I guess Andrew Bynum's chances of ever wearing a Magic Uniform just went up a couple of %'s
