Seriously, they're not even trying to hide how bad this deal is.
I do know, though, that Okafor has a pretty big contract. Can they still afford Dwight?

Really? I thought it was Fegan that talked to the Nets by the phone. Maybe I need read up on this...
Is it still tampering if it was Fegan that talked?
Well its all subject to ESPN's reliability
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/73375 ... ersey-nets
Direct quote six paragraphs down
Fegan said both he and Howard have spoken by phone with the Nets but no face-to-face meeting has occurred.

so possibly Dwight and Okafor could end up on LA? the 1 and 2 picks from that draft.
Woj is the new Bucher. Shams is the new Woj. Espn is the new TMZ. The NBA is the new WWE.
Boo.
Boo.

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part IV)
lol, Dwight did NOT talk to Nets, it was only his agent Fegan who has talked to the Nets. What you're saying hasn't been reported anywhere. Fegan was given permission by Otis Smith to talk to the Nets so there is absolutely no case for tampering, as confirmed by Fegan and Otis Smith publicly stating that he gave permission.maginno wrote:Nemesis21 wrote:Anybody read the WT on Nets could lose D Will due to the tampering ? The Magic need to fill those charges. After NJ is hit with those penalties, D Will won't want to stay. Then maybe we can convince him to come play with D12 in Orlando.
Espn reported that Fegan stated that Dwight had talked to the Nets by phone. Thats enough. No physical meeting needed. Thats tampering since the permission for the agent to talk to the nets did not extend to Dwight himself.
If thats true then Magic can cut off Dwight from the Nets. They would be prohibited from trading or signing him later. With NY and the Lakers probably not having the cash it would at least force Dwight to consider other team such as the clippers who have a nice pick and a few good pieces.
That WT article is from a Knicks homer who will do anything to hurt the credibility of the Nets (like most Knicks media). Don't take it seriously lol.

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part IV)
As good as Paul is I think the Lakers are making a huge mistake in splitting up the frontcourt of Odom, Gasol, and Bynum. That is what makes them a dominant defensive team. Kobe's getting old. Bynum can't stay healthy, and Paul has had his own health issues.
I actually think the Lakers blow any shot at a title this year by doing this trade. But if they can somehow sign Dwight it looks good. I'm not convinced they can pull it off, though.
It will be interesting to see how Kobe plays with a top-tier point guard. He's so dominant and a player that needs to have the ball to create. I wonder what he thinks of all of this.

If he does that, I'm done watching the Magic until he is fired.
He wouldn't do that, though. No one is that dumb.

with okafor going back that should relieve NOH of some major salary, which makes sense. I never had a problem with cp3 to lakers its just that the way the NOH was getting raped did not sit well with me because it sets a precedent for the magic.
