Dallas, who are apparently on Dwight's list, are doing all they can to be majorly under the cap next summer - they are still a huge threat.

With nene, Nets would be sitting right on the salary cap depending on what they offer Deron next summer.

I've been told it's not possible.

I'm just looking and by declining their Damion option and letting Lopez go, they're at ~28 million. They'd have 30 million for Dwight and Williams.

The more this goes on the more i'm thinking that Dwight really doesn't know what he's going to do...I mean if the Nets are going to give Nene those kind of dollars then that could mean that they're not sure what Dwight is going to do....So many mixed signals...So many different sources saying different things....Could be Dwight's plan to misdirect but then why would he tell Alex Martins to his face that he "Loves Orlando" and would like to be here?

The way i see it IF Dwight is going to be traded before the season starts it has to happen in the next couple days because as a team you have to get your guys ready in training camp for the season...Teams can't spend that much time phucking around in Free Agency....Who knows what will happens from here

Lots of speculation that Emeka Okafor is in the new CP3 deal. Source says he is not part of trade.

Doesn't quite work that way - Williams would have a cap-hold of 125% of his previous salary, which would technically count against their cap until he was re-signed or his rights were renounced, so you can add $22m to that $28m, which would only leave them with $8-10m for Dwight.

Now, they could make other moves to clear space, and if they amnesty Travis Outlaw (which they may well do), they would be right back in the game.

the only logical way that deal gets done is if Pau & Odom are heading to NO....unless Pau goes to HOU and Courtney Lee and the Lakers 1st rounder and the Rockets 1st rounder are gone to New Orleans along with the players from the former trade...

Von Wafer would give the #Magic backcourt depth. His low price tag -- he's expected to receive the veteran's min -- helps.

I took out Outlaw's salary when I came up with that salary figure. No Outlaw, Lopez, or Damion.

If Fegan already told NJ they aren't getting Dwight, then it makes sense they are trying to get another big in Nene.
OR
They know they tampered and they aren't getting Dwight, so they are cutting their losses.
thinking out loud here-
Woj is the new Bucher. Shams is the new Woj. Espn is the new TMZ. The NBA is the new WWE.

If Nene lands in NJ they aren't getting Dwight. I need to make some assumptions in order to make progress.

Don't know if this would convince D12 to stay but, here's my thinking.

Pick up Billups, Re-sign J Rich, trade Nelson and Ryno for a defensive wing. Question is what wing could we get for Nelson and Ryno ?

Billups/Du Du
J Rich/Redick/Liggins
Def wing/Hedo
BBD/Harper
Dwight/Clark/Orton

Yea/Nay ?
