Possibly, but he has to prove that. He has to show that there were "extenuating circumstances" that triggered the positive test. There is no "knowledge" or "intentional" component, so if he bought something from GNC that he didn't know had roids, he would still be suspended.

it is possible, though unlikely, that he has naturally low testosterone and uses TRT to up his levels. but i'm not sure if this practice is regulated or banned by major league baseball. TRT has been used illegally and legally in numerous sports in recent years.

Unless you count Alex Sanchez getting caught or Ricky Bones being in the Mitchell Report (among many other former Brewers), they finally hit one of our own in a big way. I guess I hope that Poo Holes finally gets hit, but that's devastating for the Brewers.

A spokesman for Braun issued a statement Saturday: "There are highly unusual circumstances surrounding this case which will support Ryan's complete innocence and demonstrate there was absolutely no intentional violation of the program. While Ryan has impeccable character and no previous history, unfortunately, because of the process we have to maintain confidentiality and are not able to discuss it any further, but we are confident he will ultimately be exonerated."

Probably just standard speak with this, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Yeah, from what I saw there in that first paragraph and a text from a friend, I had hope for about the first 5 minutes of this thing. And I knew that was standard agent speak for that stuff. **** my life.

Sounds like Braun's testosterone was four times the normal level and "synthetic in nature". He, and the Brewers, are ****.

He certainly had plenty of back issues this season, didn't he...

I mean how is this possible? He's clean for 9 years. Then depending on how often they test, at the start of this years playoffs he tests positive for high testerone? He's already signed a contract, so there's no incentive really? He already was one of the best players. This can't be true.
