Age means nothing - all that matters is what he brings to the team. Defense, scoring, passing, intangibles, and leadership.

And unless you're the one ponying up his salary out of your own pocket, who gives a $h!t about how much he gets paid. Good for him and good for Sarver for not trying to undercut one of our best players over the last few seasons.

Gotta love people crying about giving one of the best 39 years old's in the history of basketball a ONE YEAR DEAL.

A 1-year deal to one of the best perimeter defenders in the league who played for the veteran's minimum for years. Talk about a rip-off!

Good for Grant. He deserves a great payday for his efforts, and I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't be thrilled to have him. Dude's nearer to 40 than 30 and just put the books on his third straight season of 80+ games. 13/4/2.5, and he's figured out how to shoot ~ 40% from 3.

I mean, that's a pretty damned valuable SF right there.... And it's Grant Hill, so I mean, hush and enjoy. :D

Just to finish my idea: I'm all OK & happy for Grant Hill back in Orange. But, still, i think $6,500,000 is way to much for this season.
Finally, that's not my money, so no problem.

No its not way too much. Grant Hill has been a top defender in the entire LEAGUE for the last two years. His presence has directly led to multiple victories on his own. He could be argued to be our second best player. He's also classy and a fantastic locker room guy. And he's unbelievably intelligent and that helps the younger players tremendously. Not to mention that his body as a whole hasn't taken the pounding of the typical 39 year old.

It could be argued that 6.5 million is a steal for him. So stop, just.... STOP.

I kind of disagree, though, I mean, yeah he's an amazing defender, but another defender, Battier, signed for three million. I guess Grant's much better, though. Gah. You're right, BH, per usual.

Yeah, his mid-range game, developed 3 and defense together make him easily worth Battierx2, IMO.

Plus, Battier made it clear that he had one destination in mind. Thus, he was stuck with what they could afford to pay him.

Hill had options and he took the best destination+money option presented to him.

Bottom line is, if you are fussy about where you want to play, it should limit your financial options.

Battier has very limited offense compared to Hills almost automatic midrange jumpshot. No comparison.

I don't trust his three at all. He looks like he's thrusting his torso upwards, I cringe when he pulls up that thing. He makes them, though. That's legit.

I trust his three... he's 80/194 over the last two seasons.

I overreacted. Sorry. Cold mind today - good contract for Suns, amount of money is not important.

Not to mention the bonus of retaining his buddy Nash.
