It was OVER 4 times the normal level. The article says that MLB doesn't even blink if you have under 4:1 testosterone level.

This is honestly horrible. We will be watching a pathetic brewers team next year.

You let your team down Ryan.

How is this even possible? He's a smart guy. He knows he has to take tests, in what scenario does he completely disregard that and do it anyway?

Exactly, and they said he tested positive during a test right before the playoffs. So sometime during this season he allegedly knowingly took something.

Anyone know how often they do tests?

The thought that came to my mind is that he was trying to come back from the lingering injuries to make a run at the world series. That is the only thing that makes sense to me where he would deliberately take something.

The other alternative is that he has been taking for a while and they finally got a test for whatever it is he was on.

Well hopefully it turns out it was wrong but I highly doubt it. I can't believe this, the Brewers are screwed. We still have this guy signed until 2020...

Well Braun isn't going to fall back to an irrelevant player, I think he still will be an MVP candidate whether he was on something or not, or whatever the case may have been...but it is a bit of a downer with having him locked up so long.

Kind of hard to watch the MACC fund auction right now. Lots of Braun stuff up for bid for charity.

Ticks me off that our superstar gets nailed while other guys walk. This stuff is just used too much by too many guys. I don't know how you get rid of it since it obviously helps quite a bit.

We just need to be prepared for Packers #52 possibly showing up in one of these stories down the road.

Whatever Ryan was taking worked very well. Spread the goods to the rest of the team Ryan! But next time remember to bribe the right people, or buy some clean urine FFS. Rookie mistake. Next time he juices, he'll be more careful.

Why is it a downer that we have him locked up for so long? He's one of the best without it. He didn't take anything previous to this for over 9 years. Which is one of the reasons it's sooo fishy. Unless there was a nagging injury I can't think of a single reason why Braun would take it during the season.

Apparently the 2nd test he took right after he was informed of the positive one was negative. Sooo

Even though he's a great character guy and a total fan favorite, in a weird way it makes sense that he would have motivation to do this. He gets so much love from Brewer fans and the Brewers are so popular when they're winning that it could make him feel a lot of pressure to perform. Just speculating.

Oh, now I'm really tempted to say they should just tank next season and rebuild. Trade Wolf while his value is high. Give Green and Gamel automatic starting spots from day 1 of spring training and see what they can do with it. Start Gindl while Braun is out, and if he's successful then trade Hart when Braun comes back so Gindl can play right. Consider trading Nyjer in order to start Schafer in cf. Don't sign any vets, and if anyone doesn't want to stick it out during the rebuild, trade him.

Weeks
Schafer
Hart
Gamel
Green
Gindl
Lucroy
Gonzalez

Very interested to get a glimpse of what the young guys can do. And if McGehee somehow returned to form and replaced Gamel or Green, that could still be a top-14 line-up in the NL (sarcasm).

IF we were to go that route, the first thing on my list would unfortunately be trading a 30 year old Weeks for prospects.

Tank? Seriously? This division will probably be the weakest in the league, and you want to tank? Would you tank if Braun was out with an injury for a little over a month?

This is obviously a bigger story because he was the MVP, and also maybe down the road 20 years from now it may hurt his HOF chances. But do the 50 games, or maybe he won't even have to (crossing my fingers on the appeal given his past, and rather odd timing to test positive) and continue to dominate with the brewers for the next 10 years.

I am far more surprised anyone is actually in disbelief about this.

I just assumed. It's like the people who are in denial about Clay Matthews being on something.
