I just assumed. It's like the people who are in denial about Clay Matthews being on something.

True, i'm even more surprised at the outrage. I mean do people know Mike Morse tested positive at one point in his career and last year he put up all-star numbers. Probably not. This will blow over in time, but like I said, it does hurt potential HOF chances down the line.

Yeah, well I am normally in the camp that thinks like 70% of baseball, 90% of football, and 20% of NBA is on them in some way. Braun was just lower on my list of who I thought would be or would get caught.

I once saw a picture of Braun with his shirt off (no homo) and dude was freaking huge. He had muscles on his upper body in places I didn't even realize you could have muscles in. From that point on I just assumed.

I agree with those percentages. I find it very difficult to believe guys like Howard and LeBron aren't on something. They aren't huge and freakish like Shaq where he was just naturally big... they are built up to be that big on top of just naturally being large.

People are innocent until proven guilty and all... I just don't get surprised by it in sports anymore.

Just spoke to someone familiar with the details of Braun's test and was assured he will be found innocent. If so, horrible this leaked out.

Step 1 is always denial, but I cannot believe this. The past 4 seasons, he's been tested probably 20 times, and this is the first positive. Then they test him a month later and it's negative (from what I've heard). I like the theory about maybe some medication for his back.

Hopefully, since Braun seems like a cool guy, it turns out to not be true and is just medication or something.

If true that Braun gets found innocent then ESPN owes him an apology.

Yep, he's going to have to rebuild his reputation even if it turns out he did nothing wrong.

Damn, that's terrible if true. I will wait until the appeal process is done to make judgement. He very well could be innocent. Who knows?

Even if by some super slim odds that Braun could prove to an arbitrator that he wasn't juicing and his suspension was overturned, fans of the other 29 teams will think that Bud Selig was involved to help the Brewers.

Not only that, Braun has the label attached to him now, regardless if the test was wrong or he just accidentally took something. Obviously though, the odds are highest that he did take something knowingly and didn't think he'd get caught. I never believe other players who get busted, so i can't be a hypocrite now unless legit evidence exonerates Ryan.

Do they test in the offseason? Why is this coming out in December?

VIA ESPN: "The 28-year-old Braun had to provide a urine sample for testing during the playoffs, and he was notified of the positive test sometime in late October -- about a month before he was named the National League's most valuable player."

Someone then leaked it.

Ticks me off that our superstar gets nailed while other guys walk. This stuff is just used too much by too many guys. I don't know how you get rid of it since it obviously helps quite a bit.

We just need to be prepared for Packers #52 possibly showing up in one of these stories down the road.

Worse yet would be #12. Rodgers and Braun are good friends.

It's being leaked, not officially announced. Once the positive test came back in October there is an appeals process and nothing is announced until that is complete.

I'm not sure what TH is hearing but I am very dubious if he's found "innocent". And it doesn't matter, the damage is done, as said above it will be assumed Bud took care of it.

I'm not trying to excuse Braun here if he did used PED's, but i saw this link posted elsewhere and it was an interesting read. Caught me by surprise about steroids and performance. Long read though, but i skimmed over the moral aspects parts of it.

This makes absolutely zero sense. It's also convenient you just assumed this the entire time but don't bring it up until now.

Yeah there's no credibility to say "I knew it all along" about Braun. As for Matthews, who knows. His workout routine is insane. Doesn't mean he doesn't enhance it, I don't know. But as for Braun, anyone saying they "assumed" or "knew it" are dubious at best.
