It comes down to Douglas vs Crawford.

Dougie brings the D and is a better shooter but Jamal brings the straight scoring and handles. Crawford is a vet that knows NY. He was also a class act here despite his chuckyness and was just put into a position he couldnt handle, but as a 6th man hes deadly. Douglas is already 25 and might be capped out as far as potential goes, but this year will tell us alot about that.

IDK man. Its close. I might be bending towards Jamal, especially on the cheap.

I'd 200% be down for getting Hinrich. Only thing is, he's making 8+ million this year so a trade isn't possible...I checked the minute I saw sign and trade lol.

I think Hinrich may be out until January.

Is the 12 year old blogger boy making this up?
Why would Atlanta do this?
They have Teague, who I'm sure they'd like to develop. Either he or TD would lose valuable playing time for the other. Remember Hinrich is there already and they just got Mcgrady who can play pg in a pinch.
I don't know if I buy this the more I think about it.

A lot of people mentioning that he can score. Sure, he'll score but he'll do it because he's chucking. He shot 42% from the field last year. He's never been an efficient scorer.

hoopsworld per alex 'wonderkid' kennedy
One day after reaching a surprising agreement with center Tyson Chandler, the New York Knicks are attempting to acquire another notable free agent. The Knicks are zeroing in on Jamal Crawford and trying to add the veteran shooting guard through a sign-and-trade, according to sources close to the situation.

The Knicks contacted Crawford’s camp on Friday and are trying to sell him on the situation. Crawford would have to take a significant pay cut to join the Knicks, but sources say he’s open to the idea.

New York is over the cap and has no exception money. They also have few trade assets to offer. If the Hawks were willing to do a sign-and-trade with New York built around Renaldo Balkman’s $1.67 million deal, Bill Walker’s $916,000 deal and Toney Douglas’ $1.145 million deal, the Knicks would be sending out $3.73 million in salaries. The new collective bargaining agreement would allow New York to take back 150 percent plus or minus $100,000, which would give Crawford a starting salary of $5.6 million.

Last season, Crawford averaged 14.2 points for the Atlanta Hawks. In 2010, Crawford won the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award. Mike Woodson, who is now an assistant coach with the Knicks, coached Crawford in Atlanta and the two are still very close.

The Knicks are doing whatever they can to surround Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire with talent. The addition of Chandler was a start and they’d love to add Crawford to their core as well.

We better have Barea or Baron guaranteed if we're trading Douglas.

Well we still need another scorer for when Melo and Amare come out of the game. Its a pain to keep one of them on the court all the time because it takes time away from them playing together, and when they were both out of the game last year we were horrible. I see what you're saying but Im not sure Dougie is the type who can carry our offense. He gets hot once in a while but isnt reliable like that. His defense is why this would be a very hard choice though.

Im officially stumped on Douglas for Crawford... My brain says no, but my balls (no homo) say yes. Take the risk and lets see what happens.

Good analysis,

I think at the end of the day, Crawford can breakdown any 1-on-1 defender and cause the opposition's defense to falter: Douglas does not possess this skill.

We need Baron guaranteed before I sign off on this (not that my opinion matters with the FO).
