EXACTLY. players rarely win championships on their own! they need help, and Dwight has never had that help. we've been lucky enough that this one guy has been able to carry our team for the past 7 -8 years, but if we ever really expected him to be in the company of the former greats and championship winners then we should have got him better help. we should have made moves whilst he was still locked into long term deals and not towards the end of his contract.
for the record, i'm not condoning Dwight leaving or wanting to leave. personally i'd love it if Otis had said to him "stay, we're gonna clear cap this season and make a run at Deron in the offseason and we need you to recruit him for us". if he did offer that and Dwight still wants out, then IMO Otis has done all he can at this point. but had he done something earlier, we wouldn't be in this position.
Don't waste your time debating with Idunkonyou2. He is in bed with Otis. He severely underrates Dwight and overrates the rest of the team. He compares Dwight's scenario to Dirk/Mavs/Cuban.... LOL.
Consistent 50+ win seasons, 1 superstar team, lost in the finals, bad trades and even worse contracts, spending tons of money. If I said this before the Mavs won the it all this year, you wouldn't know which team I was talking about when it came to the Mavs or Magic.
