Hollinger fails again.

1. Our guys are expiring contracts

2. They are considering axing Marvin with the amnesty.

3. The Hawks claim they want something bad since Hinrich will be out for awhile with shoulder surgery.

This is good news. And since the Lakers are getting Paul (I assume he's not talking Clippers here), that would leave us in good position to land him.

lakers just pulled out of paul deal. they're sending odom to dallas for the trade exception they got from the chandler deal.

Seriously...we need Davis here (and yes, I know how sad/desperate that kinda sounds).

Couple of observations with this move...
Firstly, would many of you say Jcraw is a better point than Toney? Serious question. I mean defense/offense differences aside. Who dribbles the ball better, who passes better, who facilitates an offense better? Cause right now, I'm thinking Toney is our starting point, and I don't know enough about Shump to believe all these claims he's good.

Next Bibby is not starter material. /thought process.

I'm thinking, either the FO is really high on Shump, and believes we can really run our offense through him and Melo, or they think we can start Craw at point.

IMO if we can make this move without moving TD23 (not because he's unmoveable) then we should do it. If not, then only if we can secure another point. I dont mind Craw back, and wouldn't mind his scoring... we just need a facilitator, and he is not one.

edit... checked out the stats and JCraw's best APG was in 07-08, where he averaged 4.6 assists, whereas Toney's best year was last year at 4.7. not that much of a difference... hmm.. what do you guys think?

Crawford is a great guy, great teammate, no denying that, I would welcome him back--just that it seems premature until we get our PG figured out first.

and i'm sure toney did that in less minutes. jamal is not a point. he has a great handle and will throw a lob or two but that's it.

I agree with the general points here, but one correction - Douglas only averaged 3 assists last year.

Crawford has a much better handle than tony but craws mentality is too much of a scorer. Playing him fulltime as a point would be a disaster IMO.

I don't think Crawford has a much better handle than Douglas.

Crawford would make a great third option behind Melo and Amare. Our starting 5 could be:

Baron
Crawford
Melo
Amare
Chandler

This reminds me of Melo retweeting the picture of him in a Knicks jersey to be honest. Only way I'm down for trading Toney to get Crawford is if we get Baron Davis.
