CP3 deal to the Lakers is off.
Lakers traded Odom to the Mavs for a 9 million TPE and 2012 first rounder.
Reports are now saying the Lakers are after Howard, most likely using Gasol, Bynum, draft picks to get him.
Pacers are trying to steal West from Boston.

NBA cancelled the CP3 deal. Hornets still going to trade him, but reports are David is running that operation now and will dictate where he goes.
Lakers trade Odom to Mavs for TPE and 1st round draft pick.
Lakers start looking to acquire D12.

it is not 2:18 am, i have read 429 pages of posts by your die hard fans crying in sadness and confusion. We do not know what has gone on behind closed doors, but we do know that you have grown into a man you are today from a 17yr old Christian boy. I do know that every single one of us Magic fans have cheered you every single night, we have watched you grow in our hearts and our city. We have lived with your missed free throws and historically unhuman like dunks. I see that we play no part in your decesion and you have chosen to go elsewhere. You said God will guide you in chosing your destination, i think you are not listening hard enough. God does not want you to leave your fans of all ages from my 8yr old daugher to the sweet lady who died knowing she died happy because of you being here. We want you to make things right. We want you to think harder. You know this is your city, your town. You belong to us and we belong to you. We will fire Otis and Stan if it will make you stay. what am i saying im sleep deprived perhaps. but im so sad that i feel i have to rant. Anyway , we are here for you if you will be here for us.

Magic clearing cap space could still be a legit option, if only we hadn't just re-signed JRich and s&t'd for BBD...
Well total those two are only making 12 million a year. We could move Redick and Nelson (15 million total) for picks or expirings. We could move Hedo (3 years left, 11 million per, last year not fully guaranteed) for expirings or low 1st rounder or 2nd rounder. We also have Anderson/Orton on the roster who have a combined 3 million. All in all, that is a total of 29 million we could move if we wanted too. You would only have Harper, Duhon, QRich Howard, JRich and Davis left. Combined they make about 38 million giving the Magic around 22 million to work with.
Could happen, but I have my doubts. I think Otis wants to start the season with that star player beside Howard.
JJ and Anderson both have options we can decline. Nelson has an option, but he has to decline it. they are all moveable. i can't see anybody taking Hedo for an expiring though, and that's the contract that kills our chance of cap space.
without JRich and BBD we'd be sitting on the cap. minus JJ + Meer + Anderson and that's your $17M right there.
signing JRich killed the hopes of going for cap space.

Dwight did a 30 minute "press conference/Q&A" with reporters basically saying he wants to be traded, there is nothing left for Orlando to do, he loves the city, sorry it had to be this way, blah blah the whole schtick... but he was genuinely sad and the decision was hard for him to make... at first we were all mad at Dwight, then we all got mad at Otis (Dwight kind of threw Otis under the bus), Howard also said he will work with Magic FO to make sure we get a good deal (3rd or 4th team involved to help get us better assets in return), then Otis talked for a bit and said he's still TRYING TO KEEP HOWARD and he doesn't care what Dwight says... then we all started going through the 7 cycles of grief, and then the thread ended (Part IV), then Part V starts up and news comes out that LA had pulled out the CP3 deal because they want to go after Dwight, CP3 feels shafted, David Stern is now controlling where CP3 is going and not Demps, LA traded Odom to Dallas for TPE, and all of us are clamoring for hope that Otis can somehow attain CP3 since he's available now.. in essence, CHANGE DWIGHT'S MIND... ala remember Kobe demanding a trade out of LA 4-5 years ago, and then LA gets Gasol for Kwame? yeah, we're hoping for that
But aside from that, a lot of us are ready to move on as well if Dwight is eventually traded (soon). Heart and Hustle 2.0 ... Magic fans for life... hope that brings you up to speed... sorry for it being choppy... tired, late, alcohol in system lol
btw, watching the Dwight Q&A with reporters... not many of us are mad at Dwight... he genuinely loves Orlando, but business is business... he wants to move on, it's his life and his decision... him and Otis don't agree on a lot of things apparently with the direction of the team

I heard about the JRich sighing which personally didn't make any sense to me b/c of the dwight fiasco. But I feel like we still got him at a good price. Is that why we signed him?

We got JRich and Davis for great deals. No doubt why we signed them because of their deals. Two good role players, potential starters for a combined 12 million? You take that every time.

For those of us that stayed here and drank we hit a momentary high when LA dropped the CP3 deal thinking we were getting him and Gasol and Bynum and getting rid of Dwight. Then people got greedy and wanted Dwight and CP3. So basically, we're back to where we were this time yesterday, except we've heard from Dwight personally he wants out.

Nahh you did an excellent job...I'm drunk myself so it was easier to read. lol
At this point, is there any energy to waste to think about getting CP3 here? I personally can't take it anymore. I guess it is time to move on, but it doesn't seem like we are tanking. I mean we signed jason richardson and BBD. I want to win a championship right now just to spite Dwight!

Howard did say nothing would change his mind, but if we get Paul here or Ellis here, there is no way he would just up and leave.
