^ You can only use the amnesty clause on a player who was on your team before the lockout (July 1st, IIRC).

IRS wrote:To Toronto: Desagana Diop, 2013 first round pick (protected, via Portland).

To Charlotte: Leandro Barbosa, Solomon Alabi, 2013 second round pick, cash (if necessary).

For Toronto, they simply do not need Barbosa going off on teams and giving them more wins. Toronto is in full tank mode, and in this deal get a solid pick for the future, and a semi serviceable stop-gap big man until Jonas V is ready (even though they signed Magloire, you can never have too many big men). We haven't seen much of Alabi yet, and there has been talk that he has made great strides this off-season, but until we get proof, he is still nothing really special.

For Charlotte, whenever you have Corey Maggette as your first option, you know you need help in the scoring department. Barbosa is a very strong scorer inside and out, he can slash, play a bit of the point, come off the bench, whatever you need. Again, there has been talk that Alabi is much improved, so in that case he will be an upgrade over Diop. Both Barbosa and Alabi are expiring, and to top it off they get what is likely to be a very high second round pick, and some cash incentive as well.

No thanks. Diop has a pretty expensive player option for 12-13 season and I'm not sure about the status of that pick. I think Barbosa to CHI for the Unguaranteed contracts + CHI 2012 pick is the best use for Barbosa and makes sense for all parties involved.

But how about this:

Toronto sends--->TPE + cash
Toronto receives<---O.J Mayo

Memphis sends--->O.J Mayo
Memphis receives<---Ronny Turiaf

NYK sends----> Ronny Turiaf
NYK receives<---- TPE + TOR 2nd round pick

Toronto finds a use for the TPE (assuming there aren't any bigger and better deals to make) and brings in a young prospect that's entertaining to watch and can be a part of our youth movement. Memphis will need to fork out a lot of money to keep Gasol and is losing Battier to the Heat. A HUGE part of their run last year and they'll need to replace him.. I like Mayo and I think he could excel here.

Memphis also needs another good dependable big. I don't think we NEED him as we have quite a few bigs on our team who'll need minutes. NYK was looking for a team under the cap so they'd don't have to take any salary back but because we're taking Mayo, it could work. Memphis needs another big on the cheap and Turiaf could log minutes at the PF or C spot to rest Gasol or Z-Bo.

NYK is making a move for Chandler and need to clear some space. They're looking to move Turiaf and in this deal, he'd be headed to a team that could really use his services while not bringing back any salary to NYK.

Thoughts? Am I undervaluing Mayo?

Can we please stop with the fantasy trades that are pipe dreams? Seriously Amir Johnson for Favors? Why would Utah trade Al Jefferson + Favors for Smith and Zaza? We would be cut out of this deal faster then you can say Raptors homerism.

That Washington Wizards deal is also bad for Washington. Lewis is a massive expiring deal and Klezia and Calderon are considered to be bad deals add in Amir Johnson and that is a lot of long term salary that Washington is taking on for suspect players in their system.

I think with Richard Hamilton signing possibly with The Bulls the Barbosa + for Chicago 1st and expiring deals are off the table. I wonder if OKC wants Barbs now that Nate Robinson has been cut in OKC

I had hoped BC would have pulled the trigger on Barbosa deal right out the gates but he`s busy signing scrubs.

Oh well. I thought about the Barbosa to OKC deal before too. Maybe they`ll send a late pick back in return?

Just read a tweet from Alderidge saying that a 3rd team would be necessary to facilitate a D12 to Nets deal... Any way we could get in on it? What do we like from NJ?

With Brook Lopez obviously going to Orlando, can't think of anyone else we would want. Marshan Brooks and Anthony Morrow are interesting, but are we willing to give anything up?

As long as it's the NBA championship, I don't think we should be that picky.

It would probably have to be someone still on their rookie deal, and somewhat proven to have legit star talent/potential. Going through the last few lotteries:

2011
Kyrie- yes
Everyone else-no

2010-
Wall-yes
Cousins- maybe, but I'm inclined to say no because of his attitude
Monroe- maybe, I think I'd pass because his ceiling isn't quite as high as some of the bigs in this draft
Everyone else- no

2009-
Griffin - of course
Curry - maybe
Everyone else - no

Raps claim Billups with a bid near MLE money. Send Billups to lakers for portion of their newly acquired TPE from Odom deal and 2nd round pick.

Lakers get Billups to properly guard big opposing PGs. Raps get some assets for simply pushing some paper across the desk.

I have a trade idea some of yoll might agree, some might disagree I would like to know your honest opinions and don't be idiotic about my trade idea.

Raps Trade
2012 1st round pick
Jonas Valanciunas
Ed Davis
Jose Calderon
Alabi

Magics Trade
Dwight Howard
DeAndre Liggins

This is only if Dwight is willing to extend we would then be able to sign Paul or Williams in the summer. I think most likely williams but you would have to show Dwight all these views i'm pretty sure he would see this as a contending team and doing everything to already put him in a postion to contend seeing as he just asked Orl for a trade because he doesnt see them contending with all the other teams.

Just think:
Raps Potential lineup
Bayless/Carter/Barbosa
DeRozan/Forbes/Liggins
JJ/Kleiza/Butler
Bargnani/Amir
Howard/Gray/Magaloire

From Orl Standpoint for people who say Orl says NO
Orlando possible 2012 lineup
Nelson/Calderon(expiring)/Duhon
J-Rich/Reddick
Turk/Q-Rich
Ed Davis/Anderson/Big Baby
Valanciunas/Orton/Alabi/Harper
(addding their pick with ours they could get any two of Terrance Jones, Gillchrist,Beal,Miller Rivers,Marshall,Teague,Kabongo,Kris Joseph, or Tim Hardaway Jr which I think is great for them to turn around the franchise quick and compete while building. Best Dwight scenario for there team only good if Dwight extends tho.

Raptors list of rookies should be PJ3, Lillard, Rivers, Waiters, or Harkless.
I say draft Lillard, Waiters, or Harkless.

Tbh we would be giving up way to much .. espeacially if they want some nice rebuilding or not even rebuilding i will give them
Jonas, Alabi/Amir and Kleiza + 2012 first round pick for Dwight and Reddick
this is the best there getting and they wont even be getting anything back by the end of the season if they dont trade him .. they will get a potential franchise player in Jonas, solid backup in Amir/Alabi and Kleiza and also a first round pick ..

Best trade I can think of on no sleep lol.

Raps trade Bargnani

Detroit trades 1st round draft pick (2012)

Detroit gambles on a Bargnani Monroe front could which I could actually see working out not too bad for them. They get their replacement for Villanueva before amnestying him.

We could potentially have 2 lottery picks which means more ping pong balls!!!

I have no trade proposed but one of the picks we should be targeting is the NYK pick that Houston currently holds.
Lets face it. In a stacked draft, its gonna be difficult to get anything but a late pick. So you make a trade with Houston acquiring the pick at a relatively low cost.
With the heavy schedule, at least one of Chandler or Amare is bound to fall to injury. Best case scenario they fall out of the playoffs into the lottery, which wouldn't matter since the pick is only top 5 protected.

Yeah I'd probably trade Jose for Stuckey, since I think Stuckey holds more trade value. Don't particularly like him for our team though, especially if he ends up getting paid roughly what Jose is being paid now.

Don't see why Detroit would do it, I think Dumars is really high on Stuckey.
