The Bulls became the old Jazz, maybe the Jazz will become the old Mavs.

Our wing situation isn't ideal and, if Howard can even approximate the level he was at two or three years ago, he'd definitely make us a better team. Despite that, I'd probably prefer just to stick with what we have. I'm just not sure the short term boost we might get from Howard would be enough to justify taking minutes and development away from Hayward and Burks. We're probably somewhere around the 10th to 12th best team in the West without Howard and, while Howard might push us up a spot or two, I don't see him pushing us into the playoffs. Even if he would push us into the playoffs, I'd probably just rather save the money, play the young guys and get a better draft pick.

All that being said, I could live with signing Howard for a year or two at around 3 million a year. I've accepted that we are (or at least should be) in rebuilding mode, but I can see why KOC wouldn't want to take that approach, at least not publicly.

The guy was an "all-star" five years ago, and he's gotten into some off court problems. Is he really some one we need to take minutes away from Burks and Hayward when his career is already whirling down the drain at 28?

I'm not too crazy about this move (if it happens) but I don't hate it either.

Not sure how to feel about this. Very talented player, but injuries and attitude have always held him back. Doesn't seem like the best fit here for the latter reason, but I think he'd be a strong addition if we're just looking at his skill set. Certainly better than CJ Miles starting at the 3.

I'm sure he and Tinsley will find some nice places to hang out quietly and peacefully.

Rasual Butler signed with Toronto today.

Starting to think we're ending up with Josh Howard. Hoping it's a one year deal.

I am all for it if the price is right. 1yr or 2yrs if he is healthy at nothing more than $2M-$3M. If this happens though we have to ship Bell off to Minny to get our pick back... We really need to be giving minutes to Hayward and Burks and having two vets will limit that.

Maybe he takes Bell's spot on the roster so that Hayward/Burks see time at SG and Howard/Miles get the mins at SF. Wasn't there early reports that Howard was going wherever Nene went?

According to KOC and RR we haven't made any kind of an offer to Josh Howard.

I'm personally hoping that we don't sign him. I just don't like the fit for either side. I also believe that there is a strong possibility of bringing AK back despite what everyone else seems to think.

I thought it seemed like an odd move. It sort of reminds me of last year with all the rumors that we were circulating about possible trades/signings and nothing became of them. I think the big one was AK for Vince Carter. I wouldn't mind seeing Josh Howard here, but at the same time, I think he's pretty much all used up.

I was gonna ask why 'Sota would do this, but then I remembered they are the Timberwolves. I wonder if Stern has been forcing them to make horrible trades forever.

I'm all aboard the Josh Howard bandwagon. I hope he signs for the right price.

I was just thinking so I went and looked and Josh Howard had his best year scoring with 19.9 points a game the last time he played with Harris. That was in 07-08 so i would not expect that from him. I am just saying that they may play well together or at least get along well.

If they sign Howard, then look for a push for the playoffs and not a youth movement...

LOL no. Howard shoots worse than CJ and Raja, if you can believe anyone could. He's coming off injury as well, but maybe he'll provide a few good minutes.

Anything over $2 or $3 million is a waste of money.
