Please give me a break with Jamal freaking Crawford. Use all the same energies and assets to get Barea. Wouldn't Toney Douglas to the Mavericks for Barea make some sense?

Toney Douglas: $1.1 million
Renaldo Balkman: $1.7 million
Bill Walker: $0.9 million
TOTAL: $3.7 million

If sent in a trade to the Hawks for Crawford, Crawford's possible first year salary would be $5.6 million ($3.7 million x 150%).

and if you give ATL 3 mill cash, they dont really have to pay much salary?

we cant give up anymore cash per the new cba since we gave washington 3 million already

I'm terrified we're going to lose Fields.

We already sent money out in the last trade and can no longer include money in any other trade.

I believe under the new CBA a team can only trade $3 mil in an entire season, which we gave to Washington.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong

no it would make absolutely zero sense. We still are in the same predicament...barea is not a 30 minute type guy he will get exposed. he is 18-20 minute guy

People are being dumb if they don't want the 6th man of the year on this team. Even if you don't like his style, shot selection, defense.. We're too thin to dismiss him based off that with everything else he brings.

Would still need a better true PG, but would be a nice pick up.

Agreed. Even if the fit is questionable (and it's only questionable if for some reason Crawford regresses to where he was a few years ago and just jacks up shots like crazy) I can't see turning up the best or 2nd best 6th man in the league. Besides, I can't imagine Jamal being a problem if he's the one who wants to sign here and we've got three guys who won't put up with any crap. I love the idea of having a great shooter like Jamal. Imagine how much harder it would be for Miami to cover us when you add another potential 20 point scorer on the court.

Think about it this way, yes JC reminds us all of bad times here in NYC, but he was a really clutch shooter for us and can be a great decoy at the end of games so Melo isn't tripled.

We can still hold out for getting Barea with the room exception (2 years, $5 million)

guys, with the back to back to back, we r going to need the extra scoring. crawford can come in a playoff game and win it by himself. yes i like douglas and he is the better the defender, but rondo ATE HIM UP in the playoffs. what defense?...i feel iman is going to be used as our defensive stopper on guards.

Toney Douglas > Barea.

I'd rather we just sign JJ and keep Toney D.

Losing Douglas is one thing. Losing BOTH Douglas and Fields would be a very bad move.

Good to see the Knicks pushing hard for a no-defense chucker.

You gotta send Balkman and Douglas to the third team (GSW?) probably. Atlanta is right near the luxury tax and won't go over it for Douglas (most likely).
