Honestly you know who I want if we get Crawford, Anthony Parker. Never have I ever seen such a perfect fit for out team in terms of role players.

lets see here were losing

Balkman= a guy whos not getting any playtime anyway

walker= lazy 3 pointer chucker who hardly gets playtime anway

douglas= a guy coming off a shoulder injury whos expected to be our pg in back to back games, the same guy who rondo took a crap on in the playoffs

and were getting

crawford-= sixth man of the year, legit shooting guard, made it out the first round of the playoff's, ability to create his own shot, great trade asset, knows the system perfectly, leader in 4 point plays, one of the deadliest cross overs in the game.

does he play defense? Nope defense cant be taught the player has to commit to it if we can get him in a defensive mind state i think this is a great pickup.

HPbasketball Hardwood Paroxysm
Key with Crawford for me, you double Melo or Amar'e, you pay. That's the objective.

This. Fields won't make you pay.

Not making any particular point about Fields' minutes. Just saying Fields won't start at the 2 if we have a real 2 on the roster.

i think crawford is a good fit this time around since hes basically gonna be the 3rd or 4th best player on the team and not have to be a de-facto #1 or #2.

I'd only want Crawford if we were keeping Douglas. I honestly don't see the point in replacing Douglas for a player who essentially does the same exact thing, minus the defensive effort.

Sure Crawford can create his shot better than Douglas can currently but we've yet to see what Douglas can really do with starter-type minutes and a few more training camps.

I'm just not ready to give up on Toney, especially for a mid-level expection player with his best years behind him.

Which isn't really Crawford's strength, since he's not a great shooter and doesn't specialize in catch-and-shoot.

Crawford would get more touches and shots coming off the bench than he would as a starter. Off the bench, Crawford can easily get 30 mpg backing up the 1, 2, and 3. As a starter, Crawford would be relegated to be used strictly a spot-up shooter. With Stat & Melo in the starting lineup, we need role players at the other 3 spots.

I'd agree with that if Crawford didn't suck as a spot-up shooter. He needs to dribble around for 10 seconds before he shoots. :-?

For those holding out hope on JJ Barea-to-#Knicks, it's not likely he'll take room exception (2x$2.5m). So may be time to move on. #fb

Really doesn't matter where we think Crawford would get more catches and shots. Since Fields is not a shooting guard and Shumpert is a rookie, Crawford would get slotted into that shooting guard slot. We were penciling Fields and Shumpert in there by default.

What purpose does Crawford serve as the starting 2 guard? he won't get the touches he is best with if he starts.

Let Woodson runs this part, I think he knows just a little bit more.

Fields will not start at shooting guard if we have a pure shooting guard on the roster. Fields is better suited to the 3. Crawford would start at the 2.

Crawford isn't a pure shooting guard, i'ts Fields to lose.

Your guessing at this point, whereas I'm believing his coach knows where he is best at.

thats sad but understandable

i do believe he is missing a great future opportunity

NY needs to move give shawne that exception, trade for jcraw, and sign a G of the amnesty list

on a side note
Ethan J. Skolnick: Media did not see Eddy Curry today. By the time we got in, he was "icing," according to the team. 4 minutes ago

ESPN reported the icing he devoured was from a double decadence chocolate cake brought it to announce the signings of Chalmers/Battier and Norris Cole.

He just gained 6 pounds.
and his tummy hurts.

Douglas is already a good player though. He may continue to improve, but he's already a good contributor.
