Wasn't a fan of TBBT after the first season. My top five right now:

1. Homeland (easily the best new show of the year)
2. Shameless (new season starts in a few weeks, best comedy on TV imo)
3. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
4. Sons of Anarchy
5. Community

South Park would be #1 but it ended a while back.
I'm also a Grey's Anatomy fan ...

Big Bang theory is pretty cool. Have watched a lot of it.

2 of my favourite recent sitcoms are British Sitcoms IT Crowd and Inbetweeners.

Inbetweeners is school boy humour but still hilarious. While IT crowd from season 2 onwards is pure gold. Recommend it if you can get your hands on it.

Otherwise still don't mind How I Met Your Mother.

I am looking for a few new shows to watch, but havent found one I love....I have netflix and am considering starting a few of these..which one do you guys recommend.

30 rock, arrested development, parks and rec, white collar, lie to me, or any other suggestions

I hope that you made this list thinking about the whole big picture, because The Office is horrible this season. If only considering the first seasons, I'd say it's one of the best sitcoms of all-time. Any fans of The UK Office here? Even though during his prime Michael Scott seemed just perfect, Ricky Gervais is even better on the British one. Its humour is way more subtle and offensive. If you haven't seen it, yet know Ricky Gervais, then you probably know what to expect out of him.

Sons of Anarchy, Community, Parks and Rec, Workaholics, Walking Dead (obvious) are all really good, as others have suggested. Throwing out the new Beavis and Butthead run and Zoey Deschanel's New Girl as shows on hulu that have made me lol.

parks and rec is one that is good for netflix. you have to watch from the 1st one in order since they all are kinda building on each other. i think i watched 30 of them over a 2 week stretch this summer. the characters get funnier and funnier the more you learn about them. ron swanson is one of the all-time greatest tv characters. and aziz is always hilarious. this year andy has been on fire.

Yes I have Netflix on my TV and they have all the episodes starting with the pilot which I watched last night. I'm not sure I can deal with the constant talking to the cameras. That too me is very distracting. I thought the pilot was OK, nothing spectacular but pilots usually aren't that great anyway so I will give it a few episodes before I make a final decision.

I watched the first 2 episodes of Arrested Development last night after reading on IMDB how awesome this show was, but I think I just wasted an hour of my time. Completely unlikable, boring and annoying characters. All the sexual references and homo-sexuality was rather disturbing. Horrible show which is probably why it didn't last very long on TV despite the high praise from some.

The Office UK is a much better show, but The Office US is easy to mindlessly watch and occasionally laugh during. David Brent's music video cracks me up, though.

Hell, I could have told you that you wouldn't enjoy Arrested Development.

New episodes are actually being filmed and will be out in 2012. You should give the show another shot then.

No chance. I actually hated everything about the show. I can't believe all those idiots who are praising this show on IMDB. I think it has a 9.5 score. Something fishy about that. Probably everyone associated with the show was spamming the site with positive comments.

IMDB has a huge liberal base. If there's a category called "liberal comedy", Arrested Development is at the top of the list. Nothing fishy about it.

I was never a huge fan though. To me, It's Always Sunny is a better rounded comedy.

Oh well that explains it. If I had known that I would have dumped out of Arrested Development 30 seconds into the pilot, right after they showed that gay boat. I mean really, do you have to throw homosexuality into the viewers faces 30 seconds into a brand new show?? The only reason I kept watching this train wreck is because it was rated 9.5 on IMDB!! 9.5!! That's 3 ticks better than Seinfeld!!!! Are these people on acid??

Liberalism :nonono:

Dude, this is a ridiculous comedy meant to be absurd. If you can't lighten up, you definitely won't enjoy it. Parks and Rec got better in season 2, when they stopped trying trying to have a The Office-like consciousness of the cameras.

Dude, I laugh at things that are funny. What exactly is funny about a poorly written show with horrible unlikable characters? Who in that show is funny?? There were a couple of funny lines but the characters suck and they are all DEPRESSING.

David Cross and Jeffrey Tambor are hilarious. Will Arnett too. The show made the character that Michael Cera will be typecast as until he's 40. Michael and George Michael are the straight characters you feel sympathetic to... if you don't like it, you don't like it.

Michael: What have we always said is the most important thing?
George Michael/Michael: Breakfast/Family
George Michael: Oh, right. Family. I thought you meant of the things you eat.

So many great jokes. There's always money in the banana stand. Vodka going bad after you open it. Tobias's many characters/being a never nude. Solid as a rock. Baby Buster. Bob Loblaw. Ed Bagley's eyebrows. The Maebe gag.

Curb is stellar, too, though.

Look at how much Kemba is smiling there....A little bit too much if you ask me. And just at the moment it seems that Obama is affectionately putting his hand on Kemba's back while turning the charm up to 11.

I think Kemba is a little bit gay for Obama....

Kemba is more qualified to be POTUS than Obama. One year left for this train wreck. Thank God.

Then how come nobody watched the show? I don't find any of those "jokes" funny. The entire show is depressing with unlikable characters.
