Arenas Clears Waivers, Interested In Following Dwight Or Miami
Dec 11, 2011 8:28 PM EST

Gilbert Arenas is now an unrestricted free agent after no teams bid on him following Orlando's decision to use their amnesty clause on him, according to sources.

Arenas hopes to join Dwight Howard wherever he is traded, according to sources.

Miami is also a team that would interest Arenas.

Regardless of what anyone else says, thank you jesus. He doesn't need to start or get major minutes but it's better than House when it comes to depth. Give him vet min and call it a day.

Mad depth and can be very useful to rest our big 3.

I'm almost positive we have never been involved in any attempt to acquire him.

That said, Chauncey would be my first choice, but I'd consider Gilbert for depth. Damn we're spoiled.

He's really not that good anymore, though.

Sure if Chauncey doesn't pan out, Arenas would be a heck of a better option than what we had last year.

Like others have said, go for Chauncey first. If it fails Arenas is fine.

I realize he wasn't 100%, but the guy fell off so hard in Orlando. 8 points and 3 assists per game. Only shot 34% shooting from the field and 27.5% from 3. That's playing next to Dwight Howard. :nonono:

Well everyone was playing terrible that year next to Dwight, not sure what the heck happened. I think its when teams realized that Dwight would do his damage and in turn just focused on the shooters. That really won't happen here at all.

Baron Davis is in even worse shape and he is not even remotely a shooter. Plus he fits in with younger teams more because he seems about as mature as the 20 year olds are ;/.

Eh? I really don't think the Heat are desperate enough to sign Davis. I really don't think it'd be a good idea.

Maybe he was a FA from GSW and decided to go to Washington instead of Miami

Won't mind Arenas. I might be the only one, but Billups's statements over the last few days are not exactly encouraging. I realize that it is just to scare of prospective amnesty waiver bidders, but it's not like he'll have a large role here .. especially with Bron & Wade handling the ball so much.

Oh well .. I hope we end up with at least 1 of them, I'm not so set on the order as some of you are.

Arenas is a cancer, and Pat isnt going to sign a guy who brought a gun to practice.

for him its not about a role its about winning and making his own choices i think you should re-read his statement....

Pre gun incedint (this was after he came back from surgery) he played great till he was suspended then never got a real chance with Wall the next year. Throw in the fact that he was traded to Orlando where they just chuck threes and rely on dwight for anything else i feel like he deserves a chance. No need to start or anything but off the bench I don't mind.

Also he brought a gun because javaris crittenton threatened him with a gun first.... Crittenton is crazy too, he killed some random pregnant women by mistake when he was doing retaliation for getting robbed. So I would probably bring a gun too if someone that crazy was on me

If Billups clears waivers, he's definitely the top choice. That being said, if Agent Zero can still shoot the rock, he'd get wide open looks all day.
